Job Summary This position is responsible for safety oversite, emergency response/resource connections, and day-to-day operational support for Catalyst staff and participants. Collaboration to address issues on and around the facility and connecting with neighbors to address concerns is also a focus of this position. The ability to provide clear, compassionate protocol-driven services utilizing advanced verbal conversational techniques is required. Job Duties/Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each of the essential duties/responsibilities listed below. Reasonable accommodation may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties/responsibilities of this job. • Under the supervision of Facilities Manager and Director, provide day-to-day coordination with other departments to alleviate safety concerns as they arise within the facility/vicinity of the facility, • Create welcoming, supportive environment for participants and visitors by providing person-centered services in a strengths-based approach., • Ensure rules are being followed--supporting a safe environment for patrons, staff and volunteers. Maintain safety and security protocols by monitoring all general access areas., • Through regular interactions with patrons and individuals in the neighborhood that are grounded in Trauma Informed Approach and Motivational Interviewing practices, this position is responsible for providing referrals and resources to relevant shelter and community-based services., • Develop rapport with patrons to cultivate trust and to encourage engagement to services offered within the program and in our community., • Work closely with care coordinators, peer support specialists, and front-line staff to support access to relevant community-based resources. Understand access points to these services and the barriers that might hinder access., • Update team members appropriately when Behavioral Health or Physical Health needs of participants that warrant special attention., • Respond to emergencies, and initiate action as required, including contact with medical emergency response systems., • Provide skilled response to access vital behavioral health and physical health supports that might be needed, such as: Mobile Community Assertive Treatment, CHAS Health Street Medicine, and other relevant treatment (such as on-site SUD and Healthcare Coordination options)., • Develop and maintain connections to health care agencies that provide direct care to appropriately triage and refer needs., • Use skilled verbal engagement techniques to de-escalate disruptive situations involving persons at the Catalyst and other Catholic Charities locations as requested., • Assess, identify and monitor any illegal activities or concerning behaviors that may need law enforcement intervention on or around campus; make police, Neighborhood Resource Officer (NRO) or City parking enforcement calls as necessary., • Utilize security surveillance systems to monitor concerning behavior within the facility/neighborhood., • Coordinate access to documentation requests made by the police department in partnership with CC IT department., • Implement consistent consequences for undesirable behavior within the program boundaries and all Catholic Charities properties, based on policy., • Understand low barrier service objectives and requirements specific to these issues., • Perform required operations tasks during shift, including overseeing community volunteers and attending the front desk, sorting or giving out mail, checking in gear, accepting donations, answering telephones, and other tasks needed to ensure smooth operations in the facility., • Exhibit exemplary personal and professional boundaries--aligning with Catholic Charities Code of Conduct. Provide direct, transparent, and respectful communications., • Provide relevant safety awareness training for clients, staff, residents, counselors, and volunteers as requested by Leadership., • Act as Safety and POC (point of contact) to on duty operations and administrative staff., • Performs other relevant duties assigned by On-site Leadership--performing as a team member to ensure that productivity outcome measures are achieved for the operations of the program., • Uses appropriate administrative, fiscal, physical, and technical safeguards to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and security of CCEW client protected health information (PHI), per regulations outlined in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)., • Will regularly utilize all forms of communication (email, text, phone, etc.) and database practices necessary for this position and as directed by supervisor., • As a mandated reporter, follow all procedures outlined in agency policies and procedures to report to the proper agency when there is suspicion and/or confirmation that a child or adult has been a victim of abuse or neglect., • Adhere to the tenets of Catholic Social Teaching and Catholic Doctrine., • Perform related functions necessary to support the mission and core values of Catholic Charities. Job Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the minimum qualifications listed below. These qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform this job. Education/Experience: to perform this job successfully, an individual should have an associates degree in social services or related field, or equivalent experience. Three years experience in de-escalation training implementation, Motivational Interviewing, Safe Crisis Management, Mental Health First Aid or equivalent combination of training and experience. Demonstrated leadership, management, safety and protection skills are mandatory. Ability to compassionately interact with the mentally ill, substance abusers and homeless people is required. Certificates/Licenses: • Successfully pass background check applicable to position., • Must possess a valid Driver License and ability to drive for work use., • Requires respirator medical evaluation questionnaire, fit testing, training, and use of respiratory protection as required by the WA Industrial Safety & Act standards.
