Job Description Apply Here: Summary: The Production Assembler assembles or modifies electromechanical equipment or devices, such as servomechanisms, gyros, dynamometers, magnetic drums. Tape drives, brakes, control linkage, actuators and appliances. The Production Assembler is also responsible for preparing and maintaining all materials needed in the assembly of various production lines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Inspect, test, and adjust completed units to ensure that units meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements., • Position, align, and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly., • Assemble parts or units, and position, align, and fasten units to assemblies, subassemblies, or frames, using hand tools and power tools., • Connect cables, tubes, and wiring, according to specifications., • Measure parts to determine tolerances, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and verniers., • Read blueprints and specifications to determine component parts and assembly sequences of electromechanical units., • Attach name plates and mark identifying information on parts., • Disassemble units to replace parts or to crate them for shipping., • File, lap, and buff parts to fit, using hand and power tools., • Clean and lubricate parts and subassemblies, using grease paddles or oilcans., • Operate or tend automated assembling equipment, such as robotics and fixed automation equipment., • Drill, tap, ream, countersink, and spot-face bolt holes in parts, using drill presses and portable power drills., • Operate small cranes to transport or position large parts, • Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, or containers, by hand or using hand trucks, or other equipment, • Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information, • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs, • Stack cargo in locations such as transit sheds, using pallets or cargo boards, • Direct spouts and position receptacles, such as bins, carts, or containers so they can be loaded, • Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected, • Carry needed tools or supplies from storage or trucks and return them after use, • Work together with other Material handlers and supervisor to assure all product is put away neatly and in its proper locations, • Work together with other Material handlers and supervisor to assure production staff receives all material needed to fill work schedules, • Maintain a clean and safe work environment throughout the facility, • Other duties or tasks are assigned as needed. Education and Experience: • High School diploma or equivalent, • 1-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment Language Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. The ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group presentations to customers, clients, and other employees of the company. Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive and negative situations. Listens and gets clarification. Listens to others without interrupting. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Exceptional organizational skills required. Ability to recognize and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment and diplomacy. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
