Job Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Program Director of Health Services oversees the daily operations of St. Mary’s health programs and 40+ bed recuperative care unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed, and client-centered care. This role also provides oversight of the on-site dental team and maintains strong working relationships with Community Medical Centers (CMC) and the Dental Clinic to ensure integrated care coordination. The Program Director provides leadership in program development, clinical compliance, and quality improvement aligned with public health and harm-reduction frameworks. The role coordinates care across health, housing, and behavioral health systems; builds partnerships with hospitals and community providers; and ensures adherence to all regulatory and contractual requirements. The position supervises and develops staff, manages budgets and documentation, and maintains readiness for audits and inspections to support positive client health outcomes and sustainable program performance. Program Leadership and Oversight • Develop, implement, and oversee health programs across campus to address the diverse medical, behavioral, and wellness needs of clients., • Lead the day-to-day operations of the shelter’s health programs and 40+ bed recuperative care unit, ensuring 24/7 quality client care., • Develop, implement, and monitor recuperative care’s program manual and the medication & monitoring manual aligned with trauma-informed, harm-reduction, and public health best practices., • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, licensing, and contractual requirements for medical and recuperative care services., • Collaborate with shelter leadership to integrate health services with case management, housing navigation, and behavioral health supports., • Promote and support shelter client participation in on-site health programs, wellness initiatives and preventive care opportunities to improve overall health outcomes., • Oversee the continuum of care for recuperative care clients through collaboration with health partners and ensure delivery of Enhanced Care Management and Community Supports are provided to, • Ensure coordination of discharge planning and referrals to community providers, including primary care, behavioral health, and substance use treatment, and Coordinated Entry System (CES)., • Monitor client progress and outcomes, addressing barriers to access and promoting health literacy., • Train and coach health services and shelter employees to ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and agency standards., • Provide leadership and professional development to recuperative care team to ensure trauma-informed and equitable service delivery to support client health outcomes., • Supervise Dental Clinic personnel and collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to maintain integrated, client-centered health services., • Collect and analyze data on client outcomes, utilization, and service gaps to guide continuous quality improvement., • Collaborate with and maintain ongoing relationships with the Community Medical Centers team and Dental Clinic team, ensuring alignment of clinical operations, quality standards, and services delivery goals., • Lead quality assurance initiatives that strengthen program performance and clinical compliance., • Collaborate with the Chief Impact Officer and Grant Manager to identify and pursue new funding opportunities for health services., • Manage health services budgets, staffing plans, and billing processes related to recuperative care and health contracts., • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in HMIS and electronic health records and shelter databases. Visual: Frequent reading, close-up work, and use of overall vision; occasional depth perception and peripheral vision. Hearing/Talking: Frequent communication in person, by phone, and by radio. Emotional/Psychological: Frequent decision-making, concentration, and client interaction; occasional public speaking; potential exposure to trauma-related situations. Environmental: Work in lodge, dining, and warehouse settings, with occasional office work and varied weather exposure. What You Bring: • Licensed healthcare professional (RN, NP, PA, or equivalent) with a minimum of 2-3 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare, public health, or community health settings., • Demonstrated experience overseeing multidisciplinary health programs, including medical, dental, and recuperative care services., • Proven success in supervising clinical teams and fostering collaboration across medical, dental, and behavioral health disciplines., • Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or other vulnerable populations; strong understanding of trauma-informed and person-centered care., • Skilled in program development, quality improvement, compliance, and partnership management with community health organizations., • 2–3 years of experience in program management or supervisory roles, preferably in homeless services, lodges/shelters, or human services., • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills., • Ability to handle crisis situations with professionalism, empathy, and sound judgment., • Proficiency with electronic databases, Microsoft Office Suite, and timekeeping systems., • 401(k), • 401(k) matching, • Dental insurance, • Health insurance, • Vision Insurance, • Progressive Leadership: 2 years (Required) SMCS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
