Job DescriptionField Service Technologist Focus: Mitsubishi CNC Laser Machinery Base: Remote within the U.S. — travel required Imagine this A customer’s production line is idle. You arrive, review the error history, study the wiring diagram, and methodically test voltages with a multimeter. You isolate a faulty component, rebuild and realign the mechanism, validate cut quality, and brief the team on the fix. The shop is back in motion—because of your expertise. Your mission • Be the on-site expert for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing Mitsubishi laser cutting systems., • Carry out detailed inspections: dismantling, rebuilding, alignment, and system adjustments., • Provide remote phone support when it accelerates customer uptime., • Explain issues, schedules, and outcomes with clarity and professionalism., • Read and apply schematics, wiring, and block diagrams to drive accurate repairs., • Record service findings thoroughly and file expenses promptly., • Maintain tools, test equipment, and service vehicles to high standards., • Contribute to additional tasks that improve customer satisfaction and team performance. Travel & growth Expect Monday–Friday travel with most returns by Friday evening. Coverage is primarily regional with potential nationwide or occasional international assignments. You’ll receive comprehensive training designed to help you grow a durable career in machinery and manufacturing technology. Qualifications • Experience with machining, manufacturing processes, or industrial equipment service., • Hands-on skill using voltmeters/multimeters, calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators., • Comfort with Windows-based computers and service applications., • Strong written and verbal communication., • Comfort working at heights when required., • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record., • Availability for extensive Monday–Friday travel. Preferred background (not mandatory), • Associate degree or technical certification (electronics, mechanics, mechatronics, or related)., • Evidence of resolving electrical and mechanical faults., • Ability to interpret manuals, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams., • Familiarity with electrical measurement tools (e.g., voltmeter, oscilloscope)., • Experience with precision instruments (indicators, micrometers, feeler gauges, etc.). Working conditions, • Primarily indoors at customer sites; exposure to variable temperatures, noise, and industrial settings., • Frequent travel/driving via personal vehicle or approved rental; reimbursed per policy., • Occasional overtime; safe vehicle operation required. Physical demands, • Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, standing, and intensive hand work., • Lift/carry up to 20 lbs. routinely; up to 50 lbs. occasionally., • Push/pull up to 50 lbs.; use carts or mechanical aids for heavier loads., • Strong visual acuity with color recognition.
