Role Description The Starbucks Store Manager is a full-time, on-site leadership position based at our Starbucks licensed location in the UC San Diego Price Center in San Diego, CA. The Store Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of daily store operations, delivering an exceptional Starbucks experience, and ensuring the location operates efficiently while meeting company, Starbucks, and UC San Diego standards. This role oversees store performance, team development, scheduling, inventory management, labor planning, customer service, and operational execution. The Store Manager leads by example, coaches and develops baristas and supervisors, and creates a culture centered around hospitality, accountability, and teamwork. The Store Manager will manage day-to-day operations including opening and closing procedures, staffing, training, cash management, product quality, cleanliness, food safety, and compliance. This position will monitor sales, labor, inventory, and customer feedback while identifying opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency, and the overall guest experience. The Store Manager will work closely with Sundance Restaurants Holdings leadership, Starbucks representatives, and UC San Diego partners to support campus events, promotions, operational initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts. Responsibilities • Lead and oversee daily operations of the Starbucks licensed location at UC San Diego Price Center., • Deliver a premium Starbucks customer experience through exceptional service, beverage quality, and store presentation., • Recruit, train, coach, and develop baristas and shift leaders to build a high-performing team., • Create employee schedules that align with business needs, peak campus traffic patterns, and labor goals., • Monitor sales, labor, inventory, and operational metrics to drive store performance., • Ensure compliance with Starbucks brand standards, company policies, UC San Diego requirements, food safety regulations, and health standards., • Maintain strong execution of beverage quality, speed of service, cleanliness, and hospitality expectations., • Manage inventory levels, ordering, waste reduction, and product availability., • Handle customer feedback and resolve guest concerns professionally., • Support campus promotions, local marketing initiatives, and seasonal Starbucks programs., • Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for employees and guests., • Partner with leadership on business planning, staffing strategy, and operational improvements. Qualifications • Proven leadership experience as a Store Manager, Restaurant Manager, General Manager, or similar role in a high-volume restaurant, or ideally in a Starbucks Café., • Strong customer service and hospitality mindset with the ability to create memorable guest experiences., • Experience leading, coaching, and developing teams in a fast-paced environment., • Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate employees and collaborate with company and campus partners., • Experience managing store-level financial performance, including sales, labor, inventory, and operational goals., • Ability to analyze performance metrics and make informed business decisions., • Knowledge of food safety standards, cash handling procedures, and operational compliance., • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities., • Ability to maintain Starbucks brand standards and deliver consistent execution., • Previous experience with Starbucks, specialty coffee, QSR, or high-volume retail operations preferred., • Proficiency with scheduling systems, POS systems, inventory tools, and basic computer applications., • High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in business, hospitality, or related field preferred., • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on campus and business needs.
