Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Educator, • Discipline: RN, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, flexible, rotating, • Employment Type: Travel 📍 Maternity Nurse Educator Location: IVS review required Schedule: Day Shift — Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM Hours: 36 hrs/week (operationalized as 5x8s one week, 4x8s the next) Job Purpose The Maternity Nurse Educator functions as a change agent, mentor, leader, facilitator of learning, advocate for the nurse educator specialty, and partner in role transitions. This role integrates adult learning theory, experience, and evidence-based practice to guide and elevate clinical nursing practice. Qualifications / Experience • Graduate of an accredited nursing school, • Current MA RN license, • MSN required, • ANCC certification in Nursing Professional Development strongly preferred, • Current AHA BLS, • NRP and ACLS required, • NRP Fetal Monitoring Instructor preferred, • Must meet Nursing Professional Development (NPD) competency standards (ANPD), • Continuing Care Nursery (CCN) experience required, • Advanced maternal-child nursing skills, including:, • Fetal monitoring, • Cardiac arrhythmia identification, • IV medication titration, • Managing epidurals and pain relief modalities, • Acute care of laboring patients, • OR experience (circulator & scrub for C-sections), • Advanced assessment skillsCore NPD Standards & Responsibilities, • Assessment: Identify educational needs and trends, • Outcome Identification: Establish measurable learning and competency outcomes, • Planning: Develop evidence-based educational content using adult learning principles, • Facilitation: Create a positive learning environment and support clinical transitions, • Evaluation: Use reliable tools to assess learning outcomes and revise activities, • Scientific Inquiry: Integrate evidence and support knowledge generation, • Change Agent: Lead educational programs and implement change strategies, • Leadership: Guide competency development and influence nursing practice quality, • Mentorship: Promote professional growth and lifelong learning By meeting the rigorous standards set by The Joint Commission, one of the most respected accrediting bodies in healthcare, we've demonstrated that our processes, compliance, and patient care standards are aligned with the highest levels of quality in the industry.
