American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Oncology for a travel nursing job in San Diego, California. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Oncology, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 01/05/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in the PCU/Oncology float pool covering hospital units across multiple locations, • Float to four locations, including potential to cover Emergency Department Inpatient Overflow (EDIP), • Care provided to general medicine, surgical, neuro, oncology, cardiac, and orthopedic patients, • Patient ratios: IMU 1:3, Tele 1:4, Med/Surg 1:5, • Night shift position with 3x12 hour shifts (19:00–07:00), • Weekly schedule provided two weeks in advance; no blocked or self-scheduling, • Assignment length is 13 weeks, • Uses Epic and Pyxis for documentation; Cerner charting experience required, • Floating required to all PCU units and down to Med/Surg based on census, • May float to various units and locations as needed based on staffing demands, • First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment, • No time off allowed within the first two weeks of the assignment, • Return travelers must have been gone for at least one year to be eligible, • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate, • No self-scheduling or blocked scheduling permitted, • Candidates will receive notification about their assigned facility two hours before their shift, • Holiday and weekend coverage may be part of the required schedule\n \n Requirements\n, • Active CA RN license required at time of consideration, • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and chemo certification required, • Minimum 2 years of PCU experience and experience with IV starts, telemetry, phlebotomy, and A-line procedures, • Cerner charting experience required, • Must pass EKG exam (up to 3 attempts), • At least one year of recent acute care experience with one year's specialty experience in the past two years, • Must have at least one supervisory or director reference from the past year in the relevant specialty, • Temporary license status must be clearly indicated if applicable\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
