    About the Role: The primary goals of this position is to welcome visitors, sell daily admission, memberships, check-in guests, and aid visitors while they explore the Museum during Museum hours, special events, and programs after hours. Greeting visitors and monitoring timed entry into the ticketed exhibitions requires a welcoming presence and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate can multitask with ease and possesses strong hospitality, organizational, and teamwork skills. The ability to maintain a positive attitude while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment is crucial. Knowledge of the Italian American Experience is preferred. Availability Thurs- Sat is required especially in the month of November, a minumum of 2 shifts a week. Tuesday and Wednesdays, especially weekday mornings, and a willingness to work holiday weekends is strongly preferred. Responsibilities • Greet all visitors with warmth and kindness while effectively communicating exhibition guidelines, ticketing policies, day-of events, and offer guidance., • Manage visitor traffic for the exhibition through strong organizational skills and effective communication with staff and visitors., • Check in guests and monitor timed entry into exhibitions and program spaces., • Sell daily Museum admission, event tickets, Memberships, and store items; process credit cards and ring up cash., • Demonstrate holistic knowledge of the Museum’s exhibitions, programming, Membership benefits, events, facilities, and operational changes (all staff members will be given time to become familiar with the Museum)., • Provide directions so visitors can navigate the building with ease., • Availability primarily on Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays, up to 18 hours a week., • Attend scheduled staff meetings., • Other tasks as assigned. Qualifications A successful candidate will meet many of these requirements, and have the desire and capacity to learn the rest on the job. • High school diploma or equivalent., • Experience cash handling and the ability to maintain an organized cash drawer., • Ability to learn nuanced ticketing policies and effectively communicate them to visitors., • Ability to provide excellent visitor experience in a fast paced environment., • Commitment to the Museum’s mission to provide customer service that is welcoming and inclusive to all., • Comfortability in leading groups of all ages., • Ability to work well within a team., • A positive attitude, • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and work on your feet., • Ability to implement Museum policies in a manner that is friendly but firm in order to maintain the safety of artifacts, artwork, and visitors. Facilities Support: • Conduct routine facility checks of the school building as directed by the BOM. (Building Operations Manager), • Ensure rapid acknowledgment of facilities slackbot issues and escalate them to the appropriate personnel (BOM or facilities team) according to established protocols., • Walk through hallways, classrooms, restrooms, and common areas, ensuring they are clean, safe, and free of hazards. General Support During Arrival & Dismissal: • Serve as extra support by being present and observant during arrival and dismissal times, while adhering to the guideline of not assuming any leadership and/or scholar management responsibilities., • Aid in recording tardy arrivals or early dismissals, ensuring that accurate records are kept and communicating any issues to the BOM., • Direct students, families, and staff to designated areas, helping manage foot traffic to keep arrival and dismissal processes efficient.
