DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Trade Specific: • Perform general cleaning and disinfection tasks, • Collect and remove the trash, recycling, and transport to a centralized location for disposal, • Washes floors, corridors, stairwells, walls, partitions, and windows using mops, detergents, brushes, and other cleaning devices, • Scrubs and cleans restrooms and showers, using hand-operated equipment and cleaning agents; and unclogs toilets, traps, and sinks, • Vacuums, strips, and waxes floors, and shampoo carpets using manual and mechanical equipment, • Replaces lightbulbs, and dusts or washes light fixtures and high places, such as ceilings, using ladders, other appropriate equipment, and tools, • Polishes wood and metal surfaces, fixtures, furniture, and equipment, • Moves, and arranges furniture and equipment in connection with cleaning tasks or preparation for meetings events, and other activities, • Sweeps, removes snow, and salts walkways using mechanical and manual equipment, • Reports and recommends necessary repairs and maintenance requiring skilled trades work to the supervisor, • Prepares, mixes, and dilutes cleaning solutions following the manufacturer’s directions, • Demonstrates proper cleaning procedures, • Properly use equipment, material, and tools in a safe and professional manner, • Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor Vocational Instructor: • Upon hiring into the program, assess the youth’s interests and knowledge of the Vocational Program specific to your trade area, • Instructs youth in a skilled trade to prepare them for employment upon discharge, • Plan and conduct on-the-job training activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides youth with opportunities to observe, question, and participate in, • Instruct youth in the proper and safe care of work areas and all applicable equipment; stress safety at all times, • Be prepared and in position to begin work by the Vocational Program time schedules; ensure that assigned youth are properly supervised at all times and maintain attendance and work schedule records, • Enforce established dress, conduct, and behavior codes appropriate to the Vocational Program area, • Communicate and document significant behaviors or incidents on behalf of youth., • Maintain all trade-related, Vocational Program, and youth records and paperwork in a timely, organized way Responsible for adhering to and performing all duties following all rules, regulations, policies, and safety standards of The William George Agency and the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, while upholding our mission, vision, and values. Job Description The Assistant Team Leader is responsible for supporting the Store Team Leader and assigned store(s) in the processing and merchandising of donations and new good merchandise. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Manages production and merchandising of assigned departments., • Consistently meets or exceeds daily, weekly, and monthly production goals for assigned operation., • Understands the production process and works to develop efficiencies or continuous improvements in coordination with Store Team Leader., • Communicates production goals and ensures team members understand the relationship between store sales and Goodwill’s mission., • Motivates team members to achieve goals., • Performs the duties of team members as staffing needs arise., • Trains new employees within operation on processes and procedures and follows through on additional training/retraining as needed., • Monitors the levels of merchandise on the floor and adjusts production goals and pull process as necessary., • Provides input for employee scheduling and properly record hours worked for assigned operation., • Develops merchandise displays in coordination with Store Team Leader for assigned departments:, • Ensures the proper maintenance of merchandise displays., • Keeps racks and fixtures set to standards., • Maintains proper security of all company assets., • Acts as Safety Ambassador for assigned location, adhering to Safety Ambassador expectations., • Assists the Store Team Leader with store employee meetings as necessary for employees in assigned operation., • Serves as Leader on Duty as dictated by schedule:, • Ensures safe work practices are followed at all times, • Ensures the facility is neat, clean, and organized to prevent injury or accident., • Ensures employees, volunteers, community service personnel and others use safe work methods at all times., • Assists with supervising the daily cash drawer balances and deposits of store receipts:, • Assists with monitoring the operation of the cash registers to ensure the proper accountability of all transactions., • Balances cash and deposits store receipts as required., • Assists with the transmission of all required reports., • Assists with the supervision of all employees., • Reviews customer concerns and resolves appropriately., • Maintains interior and exterior of store in a neat, clean, organized manner (including but not limited to vacuuming, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, mopping floor), • Assists in ensuring that store equipment is kept in proper working order. Promptly notifies Facilities Department or Warehouse of defects, or Information Technology of problems relating to the computer systems and e-mail., • Contributes to the effectiveness of the store by performing all other tasks as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises store team members, volunteers and community service personnel in assigned operation in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include providing input for hiring and training new employees; planning, assigning and directing work; providing input for annual performance appraisal; rewarding and disciplining employees in coordination with Store Team Leader; addressing complaints and resolving problems as it relates to assigned operation.
