Job Description Job Title: Production Associate – 7th Shift (2pm-12am Monday-Thursday) Job Description The Production Associate on 7th shift supports the safe and efficient operation of a vacuum atomization furnace by performing cleaning, inspection, material preparation, and basic equipment support tasks. This role works from verbal and written instructions to complete repetitive production activities before, during, and after the atomization process while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and housekeeping. Responsibilities • Perform a variety of cleaning, quality inspection, monitoring, and securing operations to assist in the setup of a vacuum atomization furnace., • Work from verbal and written instructions to perform repetitive production tasks before, after, and when required during the atomization process., • Assist in preparing raw material charges and support operation of the furnace control board under supervision., • Support minor repairs on the furnace, atomization chamber, and other auxiliary equipment as directed., • Clean the atomization chamber and perform housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and organized work area., • Assist in the removal and replacement of the furnace lid and coils as part of furnace setup and maintenance., • Clean the interior of the furnace chamber and the “O” ring seal to ensure proper operation and sealing., • Clean raw material charges and transport them safely to the designated charge area., • Assist in attaching and detaching gas, electric, and water lines to the furnace lid and tank as directed., • Use an electric hoist to remove and replace the furnace lid from the furnace chamber in a safe and controlled manner., • Clean the inside of crucibles, patch cracks, and perform other repair tasks on crucibles prior to the next production run., • Follow CORE guidelines and perform CORE-related duties as required to support continuous improvement and operational excellence., • Adhere to all Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) guidelines, including consistent use of required personal protective equipment such as respirators and masks., • Carry out additional tasks within the scope and skill level of the position to support department objectives and develop skills, even if not specifically listed., • Work overtime when needed to support production schedules and departmental needs. Essential Skills • Experience working in a production setting with machines in roles such as general production worker, machine operator, or plant laborer., • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis., • Reliable transportation to consistently arrive on time, as the worksite is not near public transit routes., • Ability to work from heights up to 60 feet., • Capability to wear a respirator and mask as required by safety procedures., • Physical ability to bend, lift, squat, twist, reach overhead, stand for long periods (up to 8 hours), climb stairs, and lift up to 25 lbs independently., • High School Diploma or equivalent., • Eligibility as a U.S. Person or ability to obtain necessary export authorizations as required. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Background in general labor, production, or machine operation environments., • Experience with quality control tasks in a manufacturing or industrial setting., • Basic mechanical aptitude to assist with minor repairs on furnaces, atomization chambers, and auxiliary equipment., • Comfort working with electric hoists and other material handling equipment., • Ability to follow detailed verbal and written instructions and standard operating procedures., • Willingness to learn furnace control board operations and CORE-related processes., • Strong attention to safety, housekeeping, and adherence to EH&S guidelines. Work Environment This position operates in an industrial production facility centered around a vacuum atomization furnace and related equipment. The role involves working with machinery, furnace control boards, atomization chambers, crucibles, and auxiliary systems. The standard shift runs Monday through Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. The environment requires frequent standing for up to 8 hours, climbing stairs, working at heights up to 60 feet, and regularly lifting up to 50 lbs. Team members use electric hoists, handle gas, electric, and water connections, and perform frequent cleaning and housekeeping tasks. Personal protective equipment, including respirators and masks, must be worn in accordance with EH&S guidelines, and adherence to safety and CORE procedures is expected at all times. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clayville, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
