Core Faculty Position in Residency Education at Albany Medical College Albany Medical College/Albany Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program – Albany, NY Compensation: $220,000.00 - $240,000.00 annually The Department of Family & Community Medicine at Albany Medical College is seeking a BC/BE Family Medicine Physician to join its faculty in an academic primary care practice, with a focus on resident and medical student education. The successful candidate will become part of an established community practice in beautiful upstate New York, based at Albany Family Medicine (Community Care Physicians). This position offers a wide range of clinical opportunities with privileges at both academic and community teaching hospitals. Clinical and Educational Expertise. Our current faculty’s clinical expertise includes areas such as ambulatory primary care, geriatrics, sports medicine, outpatient procedures, inpatient medicine, osteopathic manipulative medicine, newborn care, gender-affirming care, opioid use disorder treatment, women’s health (with or without obstetrics), abortion care, and point-of-care ultrasound. As part of our interdisciplinary team, you will work alongside residents, pharmacists, and integrated behavioral health professionals. Education is a cornerstone of our department’s mission, with faculty roles spanning both undergraduate and graduate medical education. Our 6-6-6 residency program holds ACGME accreditation with osteopathic recognition, and we are offering exciting opportunities in medical education. We specifically have roles in the Core Faculty with medical education responsibilities at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher (rank commensurate with experience) at Albany Medical College. In this position, you will mentor and teach across the spectrum of learners, from medical students to residents and fellows. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate family physician with a strong passion for medical education and be eager to engage in curriculum development, clinical instruction, and scholarly activities. Additional Responsibilities include: • Responsible for assessing, planning and administering health care which is individualized to the patient and consistent with the policies and protocols of PPGNY in a fast-paced environment., • Provides full spectrum sexual and reproductive health care and education to patients including contraception, abortion, well-person examinations, testing and treatment of sexually transmitted infections including HIV, and gender affirming health care, • Collaborates with physicians and other members of the health care team and makes referrals to medical and community resources as indicated, • Assists in training and orientation for newly hired staffRequired Skills and Competencies, • Ability to travel while performing the duties of this job; the employee may have to travel to other work locations at various times including occasional support of the mobile health unit, • Graduation from a formal and accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, or Nurse Midwife Program (Required), • Bachelors Degree (Required), • State license as a Physician Assistant, Nurse Midwife or Nurse Practitioner and be certified by a national credentialing body (Required), • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, • Proficient and high degree of comfort with EMR system, • Ability to provide compassionate, non-judgmental and culturally responsive care across race, class, age, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, national origin or ability; and demonstrates deep sense of accountability to patient experienceWhat makes you stand out, • Bilingual in Spanish, • 1+ year(s) work as a Clinician, • Experience with EPIC, • Masters Degree in related health field, • Experience working with LGBTQ+ populations, • Experience working with people newly diagnosed or living with HIVSchedule, • M 8am-6pm, • T 8am-5pm, • W 8am-6pm, • Th 8am-5pm
