Job Description Job Title: Staging Specialist II Job Description The Staging Specialist II sets up furniture and event fixtures across a large campus, following detailed event blueprints and plan documents. This role supports campus events by preparing, delivering, and arranging furniture, as well as handling post-event breakdown, waste, and recycling in a safe and efficient manner. Responsibilities • Set up tables, chairs, stages, and other event furniture according to detailed event blueprints and plan documents., • Load furniture and related equipment onto delivery trucks in a safe and organized manner., • Drive or assist with transporting furniture and event materials to designated campus locations., • Unload furniture and equipment at event sites and position items according to the event layout., • Break down event setups after events conclude, ensuring all furniture and equipment are collected and returned to the appropriate storage areas., • Organize, collect, and process waste and recycling after events, maintaining clean and orderly event spaces., • Sort and store furniture and fixtures so they are ready and accessible for upcoming events., • Follow all safety procedures when lifting, moving, and staging heavy items, including proper use of equipment and safe lifting techniques., • Work effectively in a physically demanding environment, remaining able to sit, stand, crouch, lift, reach, and walk throughout the entire shift., • Proven experience working in a physically demanding environment., • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds safely and repeatedly during the shift., • Ability to sit, stand, crouch, lift, reach, and walk for the entire shift., • Experience with furniture delivery, including handling tables, chairs, and similar items., • Ability to follow event blueprints and plan documents to set up stages and furniture accurately., • Capability to load and unload trucks safely and efficiently., • Basic driving ability related to moving and positioning delivery vehicles as needed., • Experience with event staging or campus event support is a plus., • Previous experience in roles involving heavy lifting, warehouse work, moving, or facilities support is beneficial., • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment., • Strong attention to detail when following layout plans and organizing event spaces. Work Environment This role is based on a large campus in Atlanta, with most work performed outdoors across various event locations. There is no work in private living areas, including dorm rooms. The position requires constant physical activity, including walking between sites, lifting and moving heavy furniture, and working in different weather conditions. Multiple shift options are available, including Tuesday through Saturday from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM, Monday through Friday from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM, and Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The environment is hands-on, team-oriented, and focused on safely and efficiently supporting campus events through staging, delivery, and breakdown of furniture and equipment. Dress will be practical and suitable for physical work and outdoor conditions, emphasizing safety and comfort. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
