We are seeking dynamic and energetic individuals to lead our competitive sports teams and clubs. Manhattan Youth runs organized sports teams and clubs for a variety of sports including, basketball, soccer, softball, baseball/teeball, lacrosse, cross country running, track & field, volleyball, floor hockey, wrestling, flag football, ultimate frisbee, table tennis, fencing, cheerleading, and tumbling/gymnastics. Fitness activities include yoga, zumba and general fitness. After-school teachers are expected to guide students in their social, emotional, and academic development across a range of areas including sports, arts, academic enrichment, and leadership. The Production Assistant (PA) is an integral part of the daily production operations supporting the team from the ground. Guided by the Technical Manager, the PA will address technical, cosmetic, and facilities notes to deliver a high quality experience for our visitors. In addition to their primary responsibilities, this role will be a part of a larger ARTECHOUSE team that works together to ensure an exceptional experience for our guests. WHO YOU ARE ● 2+ years direct work experience in a professional production environment that involves physical installation of AV and other various tech equipment. ● Basic understanding of how AV equipment, media software, and computers work, including the basics of computer science. ● Experience with live mixing audio is a plus ● Experience with general carpentry is a plus. ● Experience with rigging and mounting various weights is a plus. ● A clear and organized communicator who can give and take directions well. ● Hands on problem solver who demonstrates continuous efforts to improve their work. Job Description POSITION SUMMARY City Parks Foundation Learning Gardens brings year-round, field and school-based garden science learning to NYC school children and community members. Job Description POSITION SUMMARY Learning Gardens brings year-round, field and school-based garden science learning to NYC school children and community members. Our gardens are outdoor classrooms that provide vibrant green space in some of New York City’s most densely populated neighborhoods. We operate three gardens in three boroughs. Using our four community gardens, CPF presents engaging interdisciplinary lessons to expand student learning around urban ecology, horticulture, soil science, and sustainable urban food systems. Students in 2nd – 8th grade and their teachers receive resource materials, curricula, and tools to enhance their understanding of ecosystem services and address the unique challenges of growing food in an urban environment. High School interns are trained in garden instruction and horticultural techniques throughout the spring and then work alongside Learning Gardens staff throughout the summer. The Seasonal Garden Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day field operations in our main Learning Gardens located in Brownsville, South Jamaica, and the South Bronx. This includes garden maintenance, repairs, coordinating volunteer events, and assisting the community gardener program. The ideal candidate will be an excellent time manager, able to multitask, very well-organized, and an effective communicator. The mission of Seeds to Trees is to educate elementary and middle school students about urban ecology, forest ecology, marine ecology, parks stewardship and conservation using parks as an outdoor classroom.
