Job Description About Company: The Caswood Group is recruiting Physician Assistants as a direct hire for a client. About the Role: The Physician Assistant will support the surgical open-heart program. Provide support and accountability as an experienced PA in the clinical area of expertise, and displays leadership and mentorship to designated PA team, associated medical teams and staff. The Physician Assistant maintains clinical responsibility for patient care with supervising physician, and in collaboration with associated medical teams and staffing. Performs a broad spectrum of care regarding critical thinking, diagnosis, ordering of medications and diagnostics, and performance of corrective, preventive, and therapeutic measures in the inpatient, surgical, and/or outpatient setting. Assumes medical staff privileging under the scope of practice of a delegated physician determined by Client Health System, and the department of hire. . Minimum Qualifications: • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program. Masters preferred Experience, • Current and unrestricted Physician Assistant license to practice in New York State, • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)., • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience, preferably in cardiothoracic surgery or a related specialty., • Must complete in-house orientation program, • Excellent interpersonal skills, • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, • Speaks, reads and writes English, • Basic Microsoft Office Use, • Previous Epic software use preferred License/Certifications, • Current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant issued by the NYS Board of Medicine, • Current unrestricted DEA certificate for mid-level providers. (Full schedule: 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, 5), • NYS Mandated Infection Control Course Certificate (renewable every four years), • Current BLS, ACLS for assigned areas of practice., • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn, • Moderate Physical Activity required The Cardio Thoracic Physician Assistant utilizes advanced clinical skills daily to assess and manage complex cardiothoracic patients effectively. Strong diagnostic abilities enable the PA to interpret a variety of cardiovascular and thoracic tests, guiding treatment decisions. Excellent communication skills are essential for educating patients and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care. Procedural skills are applied during surgical assistance and postoperative management to optimize patient recovery. Additionally, proficiency with electronic medical records and documentation ensures accurate and efficient patient data management, supporting quality care delivery. 3 x 12.5 Full-Time
