Job Description We are searching for friendly and energetic full-time Shift Supervisors at our locations in Williamsville, NY for mornings (6am-2pm) & afternoons (1pm-9pm) to ensure that all restaurant operations run smoothly. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the activities of restaurant staff, expediting customers' orders as needed, and maintaining a clean, well-run restaurant. To be successful as a Shift Supervisor, you should exercise effective management skills and take necessary disciplinary actions to address poor staff performance. Ultimately, a top-performing Shift Supervisor should be able to achieve exceptional customer service and ensure that customers have a pleasant restaurant experience. Summary/Objective: Reporting to the Restaurant Manager(s) is responsible for managing restaurant shift operations at our franchise owned Tim Hortons restaurant(s). This includes overseeing hourly employees, facilities, and equipment to ensure that our high standards around people, product, cleanliness, and exceptional customer service are consistently met. Minimum Job Entry Requirements: • High school diploma or GED (must be at least 18 years of age), • Minimum of 3 months previous food service management experience, • ServSafe Manager Certified, • Strong problem-solving, organization, and time management skills, • Excellent knowledge of Tim Hortons products and procedures, • Action and results-oriented mindset, • Strong interpersonal skills, including motivating, delegation, conflict management, respect for others, and active listening, • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, composure) Responsibilities & Tasks: Customer Service: • Lead by example in demonstrating and reinforcing positive customer service behaviors, • Respond to customer service complaints, resolving problems, and turning negative situations into positive ones, • Assist in scheduling staff breaks and tasks to maintain high Tim Hortons standards throughout the day, • Pre-screen and interview employees to fill various openings, • Support the restaurant's training program and ensure employees have the necessary tools and support, • Stay updated on health and safety regulations and employment legislation, • Provide ongoing performance feedback to management about any issues with operations. Driving Sales: • Ensure proper merchandising of products, • Promote the principles of REV standards, • Evaluate and focus on areas requiring greater performance from employees Operational Analysis: • Maintain a productive and safe work environment, following all company operating, food safety, security, health andsafety, and employment standards, • Monitor food flow and equipment maintenance to serve safe food to customers, • Stay informed of new information through available resources, • Monitor and promptly respond to company email messages Physical Demands and Working Environment: The conditions herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Environment: Work is performed in a busy quick food service restaurant, where employees are communicating frequently with customers and other employees. Employees in this role must be able to prepare a variety of food and beverage items oversee and train hourly employees. There are frequent interruptions, tasks, and position changes. Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a restaurant setting with multiple employees; to stand for prolonged periods of time; to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight from <5 – 50 lbs.; to operate office equipment and cash register system requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard and electronic devices; occasional exposure to cold/freezing below temperatures and high heat temperatures, and to verbally communicate to exchange information. Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Ability to use and wear a headset for long period of time to take and process customer orders. Other: Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job. For full-time position, Shift Supervisors are expected to work a minimum of 37.5 hours per week. The maximum number of hours is generally 40, unless over-time is approved by a District Supervisor. For part-time positions, Shift Supervisors are expected to work a minimum of 16 hours per week and a maximum of 39 hours per week.
