We are a five-time ABC Excellence in Construction Award recipient and a three-time Best Place to Work honoree recognized by the Tampa Bay Business Journal — distinctions that reflect both the quality of our work and the strength of our team. Our Culture Friedrich Watkins is mid-sized by design. That means leadership knows every project by name, project managers know the superintendents they are building with, and no one is an anonymous contributor inside a large corporate structure. Collaboration here is not a stated value, it is how work gets done. Our teams operate with openness, mutual respect, and a collective commitment to solving problems and delivering results. When things get hard, we work through it together. The relationships built at Friedrich Watkins, between project managers, field leaders, estimators, and ownership, are built on genuine trust, and many become lasting friendships. Being named a Best Place to Work three times is not something we pursued. It is something our people earned through the way they show up for each other every day. If you are looking for a team that will support you, invest in your growth, and make a demanding profession genuinely rewarding, this is that place.
