Job Description Position Title: Renovations Technician Department: Operations Reports To: PM/Superintendents Prepared By: Earthtone Construction Inc. Prepared Date: September 2021 Summary: The Renovations Technician is responsible for performing basic carpentry, maintenance and renovations tasks in a timely manner and as directed by the Foreman, Superintendent, or other Earthtone Management on multifamily projects to the quality of workmanship required. Duties and Responsibilities: (include but are not limited to the following): Renovations Technician must be able to perform the following duties and responsibilities with supervision and/or assistance: • Basic Wood or Metal stud framing., • Basic electrical, wiring outlets, switches, and light fixtures, • Basic plumbing, suitable for Sink and faucet installation etc., • Installation of doors and windows and associated flashings, • Installation of siding and sheathing as well as associated underlayment’s and trims, • Installation of base board, door casing and window trim, • Installation of premanufactured cabinets and casework. shelving, casework, and countertops, • Installation of door, cabinet hardware and accessories, • Adequately hang, tape, and finish drywall, • Measures mark and cut and fits materials to perform the above and other construction, • Assists with installation of incidental concrete, insulation, roofing, electrical and plumbing as may be required, • Attends safety meetings weekly, • Attends company training as directed, • Sweeps up and keeps site clean and tidy, • Other duties as assigned Tool Requirements: (Including but not limited to the following): • Carpenters tool belt,, • Utility knife,, • Framing hammer,, • Finish hammer,, • Cat’s paw,, • Flat bar,, • Tape measure,, • Chalk line,, • Nail sets,, • Speed squares 7”, • Bevel square,, • Combination square,, • Basic screwdrivers,, • Adjustable wrenches, pliers, end cutter and vise grips,, • Hand saw,, • Hammer tacker,, • Sharp chisels -½”-3/4”- 1”,, • Levels –torpedo-24, 48”,, • Extension cords- 1@ #12 x 50’ and 1@ #14 x 25’,, • Drill bits. 1/16th to 1 1/2’ Power tools (professional quality): • 7-1/4” circular saw,, • Sawzall,, • Fein tool (reciprocating saw), (Optional/Recommended), • Random orbit sander,, • 4-1/2” angle grinder,, • Routers-standard, (Optional/Recommended), • Portable compressor, (Optional/Recommended), • Nail guns- framing finish, (Optional/Recommended), • ½ chuck power drill,, • Cordless drill and impact driver set,, • Van or truck suitable for tool transportation Education and/or Experience: • High school graduation or GED equivalent, • 5 years of experience working in construction Other Desired Skills and Abilities: • Ability to demonstrate skill in simple math, • Ability to communicate adequately in spoken English, • An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high standards, • Ability to use and apply good judgement and common sense, • Must have a valid Driver’s License and insurance Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions, construction noise, moving mechanical parts, vibration, dust, fumes, airborne particles, rough or uneven ground and working in elevated work environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, on job sites, equipment noise can be a much higher level for sustained periods.
