Job Description: The Track Design Manager will lead the management and production of High-Speed Rail projects, focused on track geometry design per the client’s design standards and specifications. Primary duties will include directing and monitoring all aspects of alignment design and track systems, working closely with the design engineering manager and track design leads to develop conceptual designs, detailed designs, cost estimates, bid items, specifications, and technical reports. The preferred candidate is self-motivated, technically proficient, and team-oriented; possesses strong written and verbal communication skills; is willing to mentor and guide junior engineer staff; and is receptive to continuous improvements. Duties: • Lead and provide management and direction for a high-quality track geometry on budget and schedule to meet with client’s expectations., • Lead management of High-Speed Track geometry design plans and specifications. design calculations, quantities, cost estimates, and other needs, • Ensure QA/QC is performed on each deliverable per project-specific QA/QC procedure and establish project quality expectations among team members, • Collaborate with track design engineers to implement best practices of track geometry., • Lead team meetings related to track design and attend project team meetings, • Draft and submit project work plan including schedule, budget, and resource needs, • Manage the track plans production schedule and proactively forecast and communicate project development status, • Collaborate with the design engineering manager to ensure proper communication with the production team., • Collaborate with other disciplines during the project design phase., • Supervise junior engineer staff and provide input on their performance while serving as track design manager., • Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineering staff, • Support planning and reviewing of project schedule, • Availability to support the TYPSA Group Railway Department in overseas projects., • Demonstrate clear and concise, verbal and written communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to coordinate meetings, resources, and presentations. Job Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills): • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, or equivalent. Master’s degree in engineering is a plus., • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience managing multidisciplinary teams, involved in High Speed Rail design projects., • Proficiency using European High Speed Rail standards to be implemented in new projects in the US., • Qualified professional who has reached the manager level; capable of providing planning, leadership, direction, and technical expertise to manage complex tasks and multi-discipline projects., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to effectively communicate thoughts and ideas to peers, senior staff, and clients., • Experience with international infrastructure projects and alternative delivery methods a plus. Working Conditions and Environment: This position will require general supervision and will have to use independent judgment within established guidelines. Generally, uses the advanced knowledge to analyze, interpret, or make deductions from varying facts or circumstances. Will need the ability to establish rapport quickly with others working on the same project, and be able to promote a positive team environment.
