Job Description • Perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed health histories to inform individualized care plans., • Administer medications via injections, IV infusions, and other routes while adhering strictly to aseptic techniques and safety protocols., • Manage complex clinical procedures such as catheterization, suturing, tube feeding, ventilator management, and wound care to support patient recovery and comfort., • Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient care activities and medical records., • Coordinate diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection/processing, radiology procedures like CT scans or sonography, and infection control measures., • Provide acute pain management and participate in trauma medicine or ICU (Intensive Care Unit) protocols for critically ill patients in Level I or Level II trauma centers., • Engage in triage activities in urgent care or emergency room settings to prioritize patient needs efficiently., • Support patients with chronic conditions such as cardiac issues requiring catheterization or dialysis treatments; assist with long-term care plans including memory care and behavioral health support., • Educate patients and their families on health coaching, discharge planning, medication administration, and disease management strategies aligned with HIPAA standards., • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with NCQA standards and ICD coding requirements (ICD-9/10), contributing to quality assurance initiatives., • Maintain sterile processing techniques during procedures like ostomy care or esthetic laser treatments; ensure infection control protocols are rigorously followed., • Valid RN license in the state of practice with current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred for ICU or emergency roles., • Proven experience in medical-surgical units, ICU/CCU (Critical Care Units), emergency medicine, or specialized areas such as cardiology or ophthalmology., • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques., • Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or similar platforms for accurate medical documentation., • Skilled in performing IV insertions/injections, phlebotomy/venipuncture, catheter care, suturing, and sterile technique procedures., • Familiarity with complex clinical procedures including ventilator management, tube feeding administration, spinal taps or gastrostomy placements is highly desirable., • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as trauma centers or hospital emergency rooms while maintaining attention to detail and patient safety., • Experience working with diverse populations including pediatric patients (neonatal ventilator use), elderly residents in long-term care or assisted living facilities; knowledge of dementia/dementia care is advantageous., • Excellent communication skills for patient education on medication administration and health coaching; strong case management capabilities are a plus., • Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law related to occupational health cases is beneficial for roles involving workplace injury recovery programs.
