Job Description Manufacturing Engineering Manager Pay range: $77,000-$152,000/yr. DOE **This position is located in Syracuse, NY. Position Summary The Manufacturing Engineering Manager leads a team of Manufacturing Engineers to develop, sustain, and improve production processes that are efficient, cost-effective, and high quality. This role provides technical leadership, supports new product introductions, and drives continuous improvement initiatives. Partnering with Operations, Quality, Procurement, and R&D, the Manager ensures manufacturing performance, resolves production challenges, and advances process innovation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of Manufacturing Engineers to build skills, engagement, and professional growth., • Manage performance, set priorities, and ensure consistency across engineering activities., • Provide day-to-day technical support to maintain productivity, product quality, and compliance with safety standards., • Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities and provide technical dispositions for non-conformances., • Collaborate with Production Planning to ensure delivery schedules, capacity requirements, and manufacturing readiness are met., • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean, 5S, process optimization, and equipment innovation., • Improve manufacturing efficiency through workflow design, facility layout planning, and equipment utilization., • Identify root causes and implement corrective/preventive actions for manufacturing issues., • Research and integrate new technologies, tooling, and methods to support evolving production needs., • Partner with Procurement and Quality to support supplier selection, qualification, and process validation., • Work with Engineering, Sales, and Business Development to evaluate feasibility, cost, and manufacturability of new designs and proposals., • Maintain and update manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, routers, and process controls., • Establish, track, and report on key metrics for manufacturing engineering deliverables to support planning and decision-making. Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial engineering or related field; minimum of three years' experience in manufacturing engineering with at least one year in a leadership or supervisory role; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering is preferred. Demonstrated experience with process validation, workflow optimization, cost reduction, and continuous improvement methodologies.
