Position Summary - The 2nd Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the personnel, production activities, and day-to-day operations of the Fill Plant during second shift operations. This role provides leadership and direction to the team while ensuring all filling operations are completed safely, efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with company standards and all applicable regulatory requirements. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities • Lead, supervise, and direct employees working on second shift operations, • Oversee daily cylinder filling production to ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently to Haun Welding Supply standards, • Ensure industrial and medical gas filling records remain compliant with FDA, NYS Board of Pharmacy, OSHA, and all other applicable regulatory requirements, • Monitor filling equipment and systems to ensure proper calibration and consistent product quality specifications are maintained, • Ensure all filling activities and procedures are performed in accordance with established Haun Welding Supply SOPs and safety standards, • Provide positive leadership, coaching, accountability, and support to employees while fostering a team-oriented work environment, • Promote and reinforce Haun Welding Supply’s values through daily interactions and leadership practices, • Ensure security of the building, inventory, and facility is maintained throughout the shift, • Actively participate in and lead team huddles and operational communications, • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with customers, vendors, and internal departments, • Identify opportunities for operational improvements and recommend process enhancements to the Plant Manager and Assistant Plant Manager, • Maintain the work area in a clean, safe, organized, and inspection-ready condition, • Ensure all prescribed safety procedures and protocols are consistently followed, • Assist with employee training and development initiatives, • Respond appropriately to operational issues, production concerns, and emergency situations as needed, • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned Requirements: Required Skills and Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent required, • Previous leadership and/or supervisory experience preferred, • Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, or production environment preferred, • Strong customer service orientation and communication skills, • Working knowledge of safety procedures and regulatory compliance requirements preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, • Ability to lead and work effectively within a cooperative team environment, • Strong organizational and time management skills, • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, • Ability to understand, interpret, and follow standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements, • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, • Ability to provide leadership, direction, and accountability to employees, • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, • Knowledge of products, gases, and services offered by the company preferred, • Commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence Physical Requirements • Ability to work in a warehouse and office environment, • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday as needed, • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds occasionally, • Ability to safely navigate warehouse and distribution center environments Work Environment This position operates in both an office and warehouse/distribution center setting. Exposure to warehouse equipment, industrial vehicles, varying temperatures, and operational noise levels may occur. Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to company safety protocols is required at all times.
