Job Description The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment, support systems, and facility infrastructure. This role ensures all machinery and utilities operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with AS9100, OSHA, and company quality standards. The Maintenance Technician works closely with production teams to minimize downtime and support continuous improvement in a fast-paced aerospace and metal fabrication environment. Must be able to perform repair and report activities on the maintenance ticketing system and other responsibilities as assigned. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on all production equipment, including press brakes, punch presses, CNC machinery, welders, air compressors, and HVAC systems. • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to identify and correct malfunctions., • Assist in equipment installations, modifications, and relocations as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor., • Maintain and repair plumbing systems (air, water, and drain lines) and electrical systems (motors, lighting, control circuits)., • Perform basic facility maintenance, including lighting, structural repairs, and minor construction., • Follow all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, and electrical safety procedures in compliance with OSHA and Cal/OSHA regulations., • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, including maintenance ticket, PM checklists, and part usage records., • Identify and communicate recurring equipment issues to management for long-term corrective action., • Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe at all times, following 6S and safety standards., • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement activities., • Respond promptly to maintenance calls to minimize equipment downtime., • Collaborate with production teams to maintain high efficiency and product integrity., • When work is completed, check for proper assembly, safety hazards, test equipment and clean-up work area of all debris in accordance with FOD., • Maintain service and preventive maintenance records for all machinery and equipment., • Promote teamwork and communication with all company and vendor employees., • Adhere to all company safety, hazmat, and material handling regulations., • Must be able to read schematics, hydraulic, pneumatic and machine drawings., • Possess the ability to troubleshoot machine and equipment failures and determine the root cause(s) and suggest counter measures to prevent reoccurrences., • Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions in English., • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals., • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units using standard and metric units. Ability to measure electrical currents and voltages, hydraulic and pneumatic pressures and use standard dimensional measuring tools., • Ability to understand verbal instructions and to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school certification in industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, or mechatronics preferred. Minimum 3–5 years of experience performing maintenance in a manufacturing environment. Proven experience maintaining metal fabrication equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Experience with plumbing, basic construction, and electrical troubleshooting (single and three-phase systems up to 480V). LANGUAGE SKILLS: • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures in English. Ability to work with mathematical concepts, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. SPECIAL INDUSTRY SPECIFIC SKILLS: Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Familiar with reading blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals. Knowledge of documentation requirements for maintenance. Knowledge of OSHA and Cal/OSHA safety standards, including LOTO, PPE, and hazard communication.
