Job Description POSITION SUMMARY Under the direction of the Director of Public Space Operation, the Public Space Operations Manager will perform tasks that support a clean, orderly, and well-maintained Downtown Atlanta. ADID endeavors to care for and maintain the “curb appeal” of the public spaces – streets, sidewalks, parks, and plazas – within the belief that a tidy and clean environment contributes towards a safe environment and the overall quality of life. Operations Manager must work effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure that public spaces are clean, safe, and welcoming for the community. This role will directly manage and supervise cleaning and maintenance tasks performed by Public Space Cleaning and Maintenance Technicians. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES We are seeking qualified and motivated candidates to perform the following duties and responsibilities: Team Leadership & Performance Management • Hire, supervise, discipline, and recommend termination of staff in accordance with organizational policies and procedures., • Lead and facilitate team meetings to ensure clear communication, alignment, and execution of operational goals., • Implement performance management practices that promote accountability and ensure a consistently high-performing, well-trained team., • Provide ongoing training, coaching, and professional development to strengthen team capabilities and service delivery., • Deliver regular, constructive feedback to support both individual growth and overall team effectiveness. Scheduling & Resource Allocation • Develop and manage staff schedules and daily assignments to support seamless operations., • Set priorities and strategically deploy personnel and resources to ensure the district is consistently well maintained, clean, and visually appealing. Operations Coordination & Administrative Support • Lead and manage daily operations to ensure service delivery objectives are consistently met and exceeded, while contributing to both short-term execution and long-term strategic planning., • Complete and submit all required documentation, reports, and administrative tasks with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness., • Maintain clear, consistent communication and correspondence with stakeholders, leadership, and team members to ensure alignment, accountability, and operational effectiveness. Field Operations & Service Delivery • Proactively assess cleaning and maintenance needs through reports, team input, and direct observation to maintain a high standard of district cleanliness., • Oversee and coordinate routine cleaning and maintenance activities across public spaces, ensuring visible and consistent service delivery., • Conduct regular inspections to ensure the district remains well maintained and meets established quality standards., • Provide real-time direction and feedback to team members to continuously elevate performance and outcomes. Fleet, Equipment & Asset Management • Ensure all vehicles and equipment are properly maintained, safe, and operational to support efficient service delivery., • Assist in managing third-party service providers responsible for the upkeep and repair of fleet and operational assets. Data Management & Reporting • Utilize data systems to track service requests, monitor performance, and ensure timely resolution of reported concerns., • Generate reports that support operational insights, accountability, and continuous improvement. Inventory & Supply Management • Maintain appropriate inventory levels to support uninterrupted operations., • Ensure accountability and proper tracking of supplies and materials. Safety, Compliance & Risk Management • Promote and enforce a strong culture of safety, ensuring full compliance with OSHA and all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations., • Maintain organized and up-to-date Safety Data Sheet (SDS) documentation., • Develop and deliver regular training programs to ensure team members understand and follow all safety protocols and regulatory requirements., • Monitor and assess workplace practices to identify risks and implement corrective measures that protect employees, the public, and organizational assets. Continuous Improvement & Innovation • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance operations and improve service delivery., • Implement best practices and innovative strategies to drive efficiency and maintain a high-quality, well-maintained district. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS • Associate or bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience., • Minimum of six (6) years of management and operations experience, with a stable work history and positive employment references., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)., • Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills., • Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English., • Keen attention to detail and commitment to high-quality standards., • Professional demeanor, presentation, and attitude., • Possession of a valid Georgia Driver’s License.
