Position Summary The Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of dump trucks, roll-offs, and other heavy-duty equipment. The ideal candidate is a skilled technician who takes pride in precision, efficiency, and reliability. Key Responsibilities * Perform preventative maintenance and major repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, and electrical systems. * Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and manuals. * Conduct inspections and ensure vehicles meet DOT safety and compliance standards. * Maintain accurate service and repair records. * Work with operations to minimize downtime and prioritize repairs. * Perform welding or fabrication work as needed. * Keep the shop and work areas clean, organized, and safe. Qualifications * Minimum 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic (heavy-duty truck experience required). * Strong knowledge of engines (Cummins, Detroit, Caterpillar, etc.) and hydraulic systems. * Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software. * CDL or ability to obtain one preferred. * Welding and fabrication skills a plus. * Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
