NYS Ombudsman certification required – training provided and must be completed within six months of employment. Minimum of 3 years of experience in working with older adult and disabled individuals is required. Minimum of 3 years of experience supervising the accurate and timely completion and submission of documentation. Experience in data entry and timely submission of regulatory paperwork required. Understanding of aging, health care and long-term care issues is preferred. Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, is required. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with a diverse range of people is required. Excellent organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines, are required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, as well as be self-motivated, is required.
