You will be inspect raw materials, in-process machined and finished-machined parts for compliance with engineering drawings and/or company specification before they are assembled into a finished product. Inspection is performed on in-process machined parts, on a first piece of a new set-up to qualify both the set-up and the process, on forged or casted pieces to qualify both dies and process.
