Website: Job Title: Azure Cloud Engineer Job Location: Newark, NJ (Hybrid) Job Type: Full-time Job Description: As an Azure Cloud Engineer at Straive, you are the engine that powers our cloud transformations. While our architects design the blueprints, you are the specialist who brings them to life. With 5+ years of experience, you have a deep technical "hands-on" background in deploying, managing, and optimizing cloud environments. You thrive in the command line, love automating repetitive tasks, and take pride in maintaining 99.9% uptime for business-critical applications. Key Responsibilities ● Deployment & Implementation: Build and configure Azure infrastructure components including Virtual Machines, VNets, Storage Accounts, and Azure SQL databases based on architectural designs. ● Automation (IaC): Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ARM Templates, or Bicep to ensure consistent and repeatable environment setups. ● Operations & Monitoring: Proactively monitor system health using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics. Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and resolve infrastructure-related incidents. ● Security & Compliance: Execute security best practices by managing Network Security Groups (NSGs), implementing Azure Key Vault, and ensuring identity management via Microsoft Entra ID. ● CI/CD Integration: Support development teams by managing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions for seamless code deployment. ● Cost Management: Implement resource tagging and right-sizing strategies to keep cloud spend within budget. Cross-Functional Delivery & Environment Enablement • Access Enablement (Users & Applications): Manage access enablement for users, services, and applications, including whitelisting, firewall rule updates, role assignments, and connectivity approvals, to remove delivery blockers and ensure secure, timely access across development, test, and production environments., • Blocker Removal: Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure, access, deployment, and dependency-related blockers that impact engineering velocity, release timelines, or platform stability., • Environment Set-up: Build, configure, and maintain reliable development, QA, UAT, and production environments in Azure, ensuring consistency, security, and readiness for application deployment and testing., • Collaboration with DevOps & Engineering Teams: Work closely with DevOps engineers, developers, architects, and support teams to streamline deployments, improve environment readiness, support release activities, and drive operational excellence across the software delivery lifecycle., • Operational Coordination: Act as a hands-on technical partner during onboarding, migration, and release cycles, ensuring infrastructure dependencies, access requirements, and platform configurations are in place to support smooth execution. Required Skills & Experience • Core Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, with a primary focus on the Microsoft Azure ecosystem., • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Azure compute (App Services, Functions) and networking (Load Balancers, Application Gateways, VPN Gateways)., • Azure Mastery: Knowledge of workings of ADLS, ADF, Azure Fabric, Synapse, Stream Analytics, Purview, Azure OpenAI Services, Azure AI Foundry, Azure AD, Database knowledge (Cosmos DB, Azure SQL, Neo4j), • Scripting: Expertise in automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python., • Containerization: Experience with Docker and orchestrating workloads, • Backup & Recovery: Practical experience setting up and testing Azure Backup and é drr rrs redd rddr rs to RR rrs RR t drrßáßß Azure Site Recovery (ASR)., • Certification: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) is mandatory; Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204) is a strong plus. Typical Qualifications ● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. ● Mindset: A strong "DevOps" mindset with a focus on automation, reliability, and continuous improvement.
