The client is a leading international operator of industrial storage and logistics infrastructure, supporting energy and dry bulk supply chains through a network of strategically located assets across Europe and other regions. The OT Asset Security function is newly established within the organization. While the long-term vision is to build a small, dedicated team, this interim position will take on global responsibilities from day one , as it is currently only one role of its kind in the structure, and is currently under a sickness leave. Role Purpose Reporting to the OT Security Manager, based in UK, the Global OT Security Engineer interim will ensure that Operational Technology (OT) environments and industrial operational assets are effectively protected, secured, and maintained in line with corporate OT cybersecurity standards. The role plays a critical part in safeguarding industrial systems, maintaining operational continuity, and ensuring regulatory compliance across multiple sites. Key Responsibilities Operational Asset Security Focus The position is strongly execution-oriented, with emphasis on: 1. Patch & Upgrade Coordination (approx. 40%) · Coordinate OT patching and upgrade cycles across sites. · Ensure remediation actions are planned and executed with minimal disruption to operations. · Manage exception handling and risk-based prioritization. 2. OT Hardening & Secure Configuration (approx. 40%) · Implement OT hardening measures and baseline configurations. · Align industrial asset configurations with ISA/IEC 62443 security controls. · Work closely with IT/OT infrastructure teams to ensure secure deployment standards. 3. Tooling & Asset Security Enablement (approx. 20%) · Support deployment and improvement of OT security tooling (asset management, monitoring, integration with SOC). · Assist with workflow automation, metrics, and dashboard reporting. Additional Responsibilities · Conduct onsite security audits to verify compliance and asset configurations. · Collect field information to validate risk profiles and asset inventories. · Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Operations, Maintenance, HSEQ, and Infrastructure. · Collaborate with external stakeholders such as tooling vendors and asset service providers. Note: OT asset documentation is largely already in place; the focus is on protection, maintenance, and continuous improvement rather than initial inventory building. Candidate Profile • 4+ years’ experience in IT/OT role with a focus on IT or OT security with a preference in liquid and dry commodities logistics. • IEC 62443 Cyber Fundamentals Specialist and GICSP. • Asset discovery and inventory using automated tools to identify hardware, software and networked assets. • Data normalization, correlation and consolidate from multiple sources (CMDB, OT sensors etc). • Criticality analysis through classifies assets by safety, regulatory, operational and business impact. • Lifecycle tracking through onboarding, change control, retirement, including ownership and maintenance history. • Integration know-how with linking asset tools with vulnerability scanners, ticketing systems and SIEMs. • Baseline creation, hardening execution, ISA/IEC 62443-3-3 SR controls & change controls. • Scanning & assessment, patch governance, risk ranking, remediation & exception handling. • Audit preparation & execution, interviewing and observation, gap analysis & reporting. • Tool administration, data quality management, workflow automation, metrics & dashboards. • Cross-team collaboration, attention to detail, documentation discipline, risk communication & continuous improvement mindset Scope & Geography · Primary asset focus: Europe (majority of critical assets) · Onsite visits expected, but travel is limited: o Approx. 1 week every 1–2 months o Mainly within Europe, including occasional visits to the UK for alignment with the manager Incorporation February 2026. Location Preferred base: Madrid or Huelva (Spain) .
