Who we are looking for We are looking for a Senior Operations with a startup mindset and strong experience in public funding and grant management , who also brings solid experience in operations, implementation of work methodologies, and financial strategy. This is not a traditional operations role focused on manufacturing or supply chain — it’s about building and running the operational backbone of a deep-tech startup in full ramp-up. You will work hand-in-hand with the COO and technical leadership to ensure that the business side enables and accelerates Inmersia’s R&D roadmap . You will be one of the go-to persons for: grants and public funding, budget control, operational methodologies, and internal processes . What you will do Public Funding & Grants • Identify, apply for, and manage Spanish public funding programs (CDTI, ENISA, AEI, ACCIÓ) end-to-end: from application to justification and audit., • Lead or coordinate European funding applications (Horizon Europe, EIC, EDF), including technical documentation, work plans, and budgets., • Ensure proper financial justification and audit readiness for all publicly funded R&D projects., • Stay current on new funding opportunities and regulatory changes affecting R&D incentives., • Design and implement work methodologies, operational workflows, and scalable internal processes., • Define and optimize the team’s project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, or the most suitable for the context)., • Establish and improve internal tools and systems (ERP, project tracking, process documentation)., • Oversee procurement of equipment and materials in coordination with the technical team., • Manage supplier relationships, contract negotiation, and vendor evaluation., • Support logistics, inventory planning, and stock monitoring of R&D components., • Support budget planning, cash flow management, and financial reporting., • Support the management of relationships with external accounting and tax advisors, ensuring compliance with Spanish fiscal and accounting legislation., • Monitor and control expenditure across departments, identifying cost optimization opportunities., • Prepare financial reports and KPIs for the executive team and investors (including board decks for VC stakeholders)., • Assist in preparing materials for investors: business plans, pitch decks, and technical annexes., • Align technical progress with strategic business goals and KPIs for investor reporting., • Collaborate on HR processes: support in recruitment, onboarding, and coordination with external payroll and contract management services., • Support compliance with labour legislation in coordination with external labour advisors., • Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or other technical field. MBA or Master’s degree in Operations/Finance is a strong plus., • 5+ years of experience in operations, finance, or business management within technology companies., • Direct experience with Spanish and/or European public funding applications and justifications., • Experience implementing work methodologies and operational processes in growth environments., • Previous experience in startups or scale-ups, ideally in deep tech or hardware environments., • Proven experience managing public funding programs in Spain (CDTI, ENISA, AEI) and/or European programs (Horizon Europe, EIC)., • Experience in designing and implementing operational methodologies and project management frameworks., • Experience in budget control, financial reporting, and cash flow management., • Knowledge of R&D fiscal incentives (deducción I+D+i, Patent Box, bonificaciones)., • Capacity to translate technical developments into clear, compelling materials for investors and grant evaluators., • Ability to manage cross-functional teams and workflows in fast-paced startup environments., • Strategic thinking with hands-on execution capability., • Excellent organizational and time management skills., • Strong writing and communication skills, especially for external-facing documentation (grants, investor materials)., • Proactive problem-solver who thrives in ambiguity and fast-changing environments., • High personal integrity and alignment with Inmersia’s core values., • Full-time permanent contract, • Industry-competitive fixed salary, bonus according to the achievement of specific objectives, and lifestyle benefits., • Flexible schedule., • Working on cutting-edge near-eye display technology that can revolutionize the XR industry., • Working with talented and enthusiastic people towards a common mission., • Strong opportunities to grow with the startup, with the possibility of becoming Director of Human Resources., • Working at a cutting-edge technology company with strong growth and high visibility., • Personal development opportunities – let us know what you need!
