📢This position is part of CRH centre of excellence in cementitious materials science the Lille which serves two complementary missions : delivering high-quality technical support to our French subsidiary's business operations (including complex troubleshooting and new product development), and leading European-scale R&D and innovation programs on behalf of the Group. In this context, the laboratory is undergoing a major transformation, characterized by a strong growth of its teams and the move to new facilities, designed to support a significant increase in activity. The Lab Operations & Performance Manager acts as the operational nerve centre of the laboratory ensuring the Operational Excellence and overall Performance of the laboratory. 🔎 Key Responsibilities : Continuous Improvement & Performance • Maintain a global view of critical dependencies (workflows, capacity, equipment, infrastructure), • Identify and activate continuous optimisation levers (organisation, processes, infrastructure), • Define and monitor laboratory performance KPIs, • Foster a data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement culture Site Relocation 2027 – Performance & Continuity • Support the Lab Manager in planning operational continuity during relocation and transition, • Design operational improvements for the new building, leveraging new space and layout opportunities, • Ensure the new site enables improved overall performance of the center Demand Management • Design and continuously improve the end-to-end demand management process (intake, qualification, prioritisation, arbitration), • Work with technical experts and management to qualify and arbitrate demand, • Ensure backlog visibility, balance demand and capacity, and reduce lead times Strategic Planning & Capacity Management • Build and maintain a macro view of capacity and forecasted demand, • Monitor the balance between technical support and R&D capacity, • Identify structural tensions and prepare decision-making inputs for management Operational Tools – LIMS & Systems • Contribute to the evolution of the LIMS and operational systems, • Drive implementation of new features aligned with operational needs, • Ensure adoption, correct usage and continuous optimisation of tools and practices 🚀 Profile : You hold a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification and have 4 to 6 years’ professional experience, ideally gained in a demanding laboratory or technical environment. You have a strong ability to structure, analyse and optimise processes, and are recognised for your methodical approach and focus on continuous improvement. You are comfortable with data-driven approaches, have a strong grasp of Lean and Kanban methodologies, and know how to implement them pragmatically to improve efficiency and performance. Proficiency in a LIMS system (or equivalent tool) is a valuable asset for success in this role. Rigorous, analytical and proactive, you enjoy working across departments and contributing to the development of practices and tools.
