Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Warwick – Hybrid (3DPW in office) £40,000 – £60,000 VIQU have partnered with a leading engineering organisation seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Chassis Team. This hands-on role will focus on developing, designing, and validating mechanical systems for bespoke vehicles, providing technical leadership and supporting both production and product launch activities. Key Responsibilities of the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer: • Lead the concept, design, and detailing of chassis systems and components, • Define requirements, identify technical challenges, and deliver practical engineering solutions, • Produce high-quality CAD models, engineering drawings, and BOMs in line with BS8888, • Communicate design intent and requirements to internal teams, customers, and suppliers, • Oversee validation activities, including DVP&R, to ensure compliance with functional and regulatory standards, • Support production, investigating build issues and resolving field service problems, • Mentor and coach engineers, promoting best-practice design and development methods, • Provide engineering support for product launches and vehicle integration Key Requirements of the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer: • Proven experience in mechanical design engineering, ideally within vehicle or chassis development, • Strong knowledge of chassis systems, structures, materials, and manufacturing processes, • Experience taking designs from concept through to validation and production, • Proficient in CAD and creation of detailed engineering drawings and BOMs, • Understanding of DVP&R, design for manufacture and assembly, and mechanical testing methods, • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and attention-to-detail skills, • Ability to lead technical delivery, work cross-functionally, and support UK field activities, • Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering Apply now to speak with VIQU IT in confidence. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for the electrical architecture of battery modules and packs, supporting both the design, manufacture and test of our custom battery products. Expectations • A degree or equivalent qualifications in electrical, automotive or similar engineering fields., • 0 to 5 years of experience in a similar technical role within the battery or electrification industry., • Foundation level understanding of electrification systems, battery packs, creepage and clearance and high voltage systems., • Ability to create and read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and engineering drawings., • Basic CAD proficiency, ideally Solidworks or Fusion., • Confidence using lab equipment, such as power supplies and electrical loads., • Confidence using basic workshop tools., • Experience with DC electrical systems, battery packs, bus bar specification, BMS systems and PDUs is desirable., • Standards Awareness: Support the validation and certification of modules to UN38.3 and other standards., • Collaborative Mindset: Excellent communication and teamwork skills both internally and externally., • Ability to work both independently, in a team and will ask for help or feedback when needed., • Enthusiastic and driven attitude, with a keen interest to learn and progress both personally and as a team., • On-site Presence: Ability to work 40 hours a week, required on site at least 4 days a week., • Flexibility: Willing to travel nationally and internationally if required.
