Senior Electronics EngineerBristol – Hybrid Working (3 office days a week)Monday to Friday£60,000 - £75,000 DOE An exciting opportunity for a Senior Electronics Engineer to join a growing hardware team developing innovative, high-quality electronic products. You’ll take a lead role across electronics design, embedded systems and product development, while supporting the wider engineering team with technical guidance and mentoring. The role is hands-on and will involve taking projects from initial concept through to testing, validation and production.Key Responsibilities:\n\n • Lead the design and development of complex electronic systems and product platforms.\n, • Own key hardware areas including embedded controllers, audio, sensors, thermal management, HMI and related firmware interfaces.\n, • Produce circuit designs, schematics and PCB layouts, ensuring designs are reliable and suitable for manufacture.\n, • Contribute to embedded firmware development and code reviews using C/C++ and Zephyr RTOS.\n, • Develop effective testing strategies and support automated testing and CI processes.\n, • Lead hardware and firmware verification, validation and compliance activities.\n, • Maintain accurate BOMs, technical drawings and manufacturing documentation.\n, • Investigate quality issues and drive improvements across products and processes.\n, • Support risk assessments, DFMEA and engineering controls in line with relevant standards.\n, • Provide technical input into future platforms, technologies and product roadmaps.\n, • Build strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturing partners.\n, • Work closely with Quality, Production, Repairs and other technical teams to resolve issues and improve product performance.\n, • Mentor and support other engineers within the team.\nThe Ideal Candidate:\n\n, • Strong experience in electronics engineering, covering analogue, digital and power electronics.\n, • Proven experience with circuit design, schematic capture and PCB development.\n, • Experience developing embedded C/C++ firmware, ideally with Zephyr RTOS and modern microcontrollers.\n, • Knowledge of hardware testing, verification, validation and automated test environments.\n, • Understanding of EMC and electrical safety requirements, particularly IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-1-2.\n, • Experience with engineering risk management, DFMEA and regulatory documentation.\n, • A good understanding of manufacturing, DFM/DFA and supplier management.\n, • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly.\n, • A proactive, collaborative approach and the confidence to take ownership of complex projects.\n, • Experience within medical, assistive or accessibility technology would be advantageous.\nWhat’s on Offer:\n\n, • Hybrid working with a minimum of three days per week in the Bristol office.\n, • 25 days’ annual leave plus public holidays.\n, • Pension, life assurance and income protection.\n, • Private medical insurance.\n, • Flexible working and wellbeing benefits.\n, • Training and development opportunities.\n, • Cycle-to-work and EV salary sacrifice schemes.\n, • A supportive, collaborative working environment with opportunities to make a genuine impact through innovative technology.\n
