Job Title: Design & Technology and Art Teacher (Food Technology Specialism) Location: Middlesbrough Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full-time (Monday–Friday, 8:00am–3:00pm) Overview: We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Design & Technology Teacher with a specialism in Food Technology to join a secondary school in Middlesbrough. This is a full-time role, ideal for someone who is confident delivering practical and theory-based lessons and has experience working with workshop machinery. Key Responsibilities: Teach Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4, with a focus on Food Technology Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons Safely operate and supervise the use of large machinery and workshop equipment Ensure all health & safety regulations are strictly followed in practical environments Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners Manage classroom behaviour effectively to maintain a positive learning environment Assess, monitor, and report on student progress Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant DT/Engineering/Food Technology degree Experience teaching Design & Technology at secondary level Strong knowledge of Food Technology curriculum Competence and confidence using large machinery (e.g. saws, drills, workshop tools) Solid understanding of health & safety procedures in a workshop/classroom setting Excellent classroom management and organisational skills What We Offer: Consistent full-time hours (8:00am–3:00pm, Monday to Friday) Supportive school environment with well-equipped DT facilities Opportunity to make a real impact on students’ practical skills and learning If you are a motivated DT Teacher with a passion for practical learning and Food Technology, we would love to hear from you.
