Site Manager\n\nLocation: East Midlands, Derbyshire, Derby\n\nJob Type: Contract, Full-Time hours\n\nIndustry: Construction\n\nSalary: £260 - £280 per day\n\nA leading construction business is seeking a freelance Site Manager to oversee school refurbishment and maintenance projects during the summer holidays. This contract role requires a proactive individual with strong leadership skills to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard.\n\nJob Duties\n\nPlan, organise and manage all site activities to ensure project milestones are met within budget and schedule.\nMaintain high standards of health and safety compliance across the site, ensuring all relevant regulations and company policies are adhered to.\nCoordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers and on-site personnel to promote efficient working practises.\nConduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.\nMaintain clear and accurate project documentation including daily reports, progress records and site diaries.\nLiaise with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and successful project delivery.\nManage resource allocation, including labour, materials and equipment to optimise site productivity.\nRespond promptly to any issues arising on site and implement appropriate corrective actions.\nEnsure all works meet the required quality standards and comply with contract specifications.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nSite Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certificate.\nValid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card.\nCurrent First Aid qualification.\nEnhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.\nFull United Kingdom driving licence.\n\nExperience\n\nProven experience managing construction sites, preferably in refurbishment or education sector projects.\nDemonstrable track record of successfully delivering projects within time and budget constraints.\nExperience in coordinating multiple contractors and managing diverse teams.\n\nKnowledge and Skills\n\nComprehensive understanding of construction processes, health and safety legislation and building regulations.\nStrong organisational and planning skills with keen attention to detail.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships.\nAbility to interpret technical drawings, specifications and contract documents.\nCompetent in using common IT tools such as email, spreadsheets and project management software.\nProblem-solving abilities to manage unforeseen issues on site efficiently.\n\nWorking Conditions\n\nFull-time hours with the expectation to work on site across the summer holiday period.\nWork involves outdoor site environments, often exposed to varying weather conditions.\nRequirement to wear personal protective equipment at all times on site.\nOccasional requirement for flexible working hours to meet project demands.\nIf you are interested in hearing more, please apply for the vacancy and Chloe will drop you a call
