This is a pivotal role within the growing R&D team, driving both new product development and sustaining engineering for life-supporting technologies. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping technical architecture, optimising engineering processes, and ensuring regulatory compliance across complex systems within Medical Devices. Key Responsibilities: • Lead the definition and execution of technology roadmaps aligned with long-term business goals., • Own system architecture and feasibility assessments for assigned products., • Translate stakeholder needs into robust system requirements and design documentation., • Drive engineering governance activities including Critical Design Reviews (CDRs)., • Collaborate with V&V teams to support defect triage, issue resolution, and validation., • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure compliance with standards such as IEC 60601, IEC 62304, and ISO 14971., • Conduct risk management activities including FMEA and hazard analysis., • Champion continuous improvement across engineering tools and processes. Required Experience & Qualifications: Essential: • Bachelor’s degree in biomedical, mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering (or equivalent)., • Strong background in high-reliability systems., • Deep understanding of ISO 14971 and IEC 62304 standards., • Proven experience in systems engineering disciplines: requirements, architecture, design, V&V, and release., • Familiarity with ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 lifecycle within regulated product development., • Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and dynamic project environments. Desirable: • Experience in ISO 13485-compliant environments., • Knowledge of real-time control systems and embedded platforms., • Experience in IEC 60601-1, • Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, quality, and clinical teams.

Join Us as a Junior Biomedical Engineer We’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Biomedical Engineer to join our team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity to gain hands-on experience in medical equipment maintenance and repair while contributing to vital healthcare operations. Key Responsibilities • Assist in the repair, maintenance, and calibration of a range of medical devices., • Assist in administration of contracts and subcontracts and relevant record keeping, • Support senior engineers with technical tasks and gain exposure to a wide variety of equipment., • Help maintain accurate service and asset records in our e-Quip database., • Work closely with clinical staff to ensure the safe and effective use of equipment., • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards. ROLE- Senior Mechanical Design Engineer LOCATION- Northwest London TERM- Permanent SALARY- £40,000 - £70,000 dependent on experience My client designs specialist products in a highly regulated industry. They are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Northwest London on a permanent basis. The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes: • HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or similar, • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar Design Engineering position, • Experience working with medical devices, agriculture, consultancy or in a highly regulated industry would be beneficial, • Experienced with full lifecycle product design, • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials – plastic injection moulding, sheet metal, castings, etc., • Excellent mathematical ability and knowledge of mechanisms, • Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor etc., • Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances, • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, • Proficient using MS Office, • Excellent organisational skills and time management skills, • Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve: • Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings, • Working in a highly regulated industry to design various products, • Liaising with manufacturing providers, • Being involved in final assembly of products, • Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans, • Updating 3D models and drawings, • Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs, • Checking drawings for sign off, • Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects If you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible.
