To assist Head Chef in our busy East European restaurant. Key Responsibilities: β’ Creative input for new dishes, specials & menu creation using local, seasonal, fresh ingredients, β’ Be well presented with excellent time keeping. Be capable of prepping & running a busy service., β’ Technical skill in grill & pastry, β’ Hands on involvement in preparation, cooking & presentation of all food items, β’ Motivate junior staff to produce food to specification & to up-sell, β’ Assist Head Chef in ensuring effective staffing levels & in supervising & training junior kitchen staff, β’ Ensure kitchen cleanliness, food safety, & compliance with health & safety regulations, β’ Purchase items from suppliers as instructed by Head Chef, β’ Ensure all equipment is properly maintained & stored, with breakages properly reported, β’ Keep stock & minimize food wastage, β’ Assist with duties assigned by Head Chef & to follow instructions Qualifications & skills: β’ Minimum 3 yearsβ experience working in busy environment as Sous Chef, β’ Culinary degree preferred. Other appropriate vocational qualifications considered, β’ Technical skill: Grill & Pastry, β’ Knowledge of East European, Georgian & Central Asian helpful
