SENDCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) Location: Cambridgeshire / Hertfordshire Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 (DOE) 🎓 Requirement: QTS/QTLS About the Role A specialist education provider is seeking an experienced and passionate SENDCo to join a high-performing school supporting children and young people with complex needs, including Autism and associated behavioural challenges. This is a senior leadership role, working closely with the Head of School to drive inclusive practice, high-quality teaching and improved outcomes for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). You will play a central role in shaping SEND strategy, leading provision, and ensuring every learner receives the support they need to thrive. Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage the SEND provision across the school, • Oversee and ensure effective delivery of EHCPs and annual reviews, • Coordinate multi-disciplinary input including therapists and external agencies, • Line manage and support teachers, TAs and SEND staff, • Drive school improvement through data, assessment and intervention strategies, • Lead on staff training (CPD) and promote best SEND practice, • Work closely with parents, local authorities and stakeholders, • Ensure compliance with statutory SEND and safeguarding requirements What We’re Looking For • Qualified Teacher (QTS/QTLS essential), • SENDCo qualification (or willingness to achieve within 2 years), • Strong experience working with:, • Autism (ASD), • complex needs, • challenging behaviour, • Proven leadership experience within a school setting, • Strong understanding of:, • EHCP processes, • SEND legislation, • safeguarding frameworks, • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Desirable Experience • Experience within specialist or SEND schools, • Exposure to Ofsted frameworks and school improvement planning, • Experience delivering staff training and mentoring What’s on Offer • Opportunity to join a values-driven, specialist education provider, • A strategic leadership role with real impact, • Ongoing training and development opportunities, • Supportive and collaborative working environment Important Information • This role requires resilience and the ability to work within challenging environments, • Occasional involvement in physical intervention/restraint may be required, • Enhanced DBS and safeguarding checks will apply
