Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) Temporary Opportunity | Oxfordshire Pay Scale: M5 M6 Contract: Temporary from November 2025 to April/August 2026 Working Days: Tuesday to Thursday, 8:30am 4:30pm Location: Standlake Witney About the School Teaching Personnel are delighted to be supporting a specialist therapeutic residential school in Oxfordshire , renowned for its trauma-informed approach to education and care. The school provides a nurturing and structured environment for children who have experienced trauma, abuse, or neglect , helping them to re-engage with learning through integrated therapeutic care, treatment, and education. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a school that makes a lasting difference in the lives of young people with complex social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. The Role We are seeking a temporary SENCO to lead the school s SEN provision during an interim period. The successful candidate will: Lead all aspects of special educational needs provision across the school. Chair and manage EHCP annual reviews , PEP reviews , and other SEN meetings. Oversee in-class SEN support and targeted interventions. Line manage the SEN Assistant and liaise with external professionals such as Speech and Language Therapists and Social Workers. Act as Designated Teacher for Looked After Children. Teach and lead interventions where required. Candidate Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and at least three years successful teaching experience . Proven experience supporting pupils with SEN and SEMH needs. Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Reflective, resilient, and committed to trauma-informed practice. SENCO qualification (or willingness to undertake) desirable.
