Job, Holiday Camp Activity Leader – Barncroft School, Waltham Forest We are running a holiday camp for primary school children (ages 5–11) and are looking for enthusiastic, caring, and proactive staff to join our team. Role: • Lead and run fun, engaging activities for children aged 5–11., • Be energetic, enthusiastic, and supportive, helping all children to feel included., • Maintain professional practice and clear boundaries with children, parents, and staff., • Be proactive in encouraging participation and creating a positive atmosphere. Hours & Pay: • Children’s day: 9:00–3:00, • Staff arrival: 8:45 (daily briefing before children arrive), • Pay: £14 per hour, • There will be an online meeting before the camp to meet the team and go through the plan. Requirements: • Valid DBS check (must be provided before starting)., • Experience working with children is desirable., • Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team. To provide advice, assistance and support to young people. To attend to their practical, physical and emotional needs. To act as an appropriate role model and to work closely with them to enable them to address their difficulties and achieve their optimum potential. Key Responsibilities 1. To work in a small team to support and implement the development of the children’s home., 2. To enhance and effect change to the good of all children with whom they work by acquiring the necessary skills through their own training and development., 4. To ensure that the young people’s needs are recognised and met. This includes ensuring that they are free from discrimination with the home and to challenge discrimination from outside the home., 5. To protect the young people from harm in and outside the home, 6. To assist the management in the home in compliance with Ofsted, legislation and the ethos and policies of the company., 7. To exercise responsible control over the children to ensure their safety and wellbeing and assist them in developing acceptable standards of personal hygiene and behaviour. This also applies to encouraging children to abide by house rules and principles., 8. To participate in the development implementation and monitoring of the individual young people’s care plans., 9. In accordance with plans for the day, to organise and supervise recreational and leisure activities both in and out of the home to provide the children with an interesting and stimulating life. This includes being prepared to spend time away from the home, on holiday and at camps etc., 10. To ensure positive participation in the company’s internal training scheme., 11. To be familiar with and follow the Local Authority Child Protection Procedures and Bull Care Services team’s Safer Caring and Child Protection Procedures’. All Information coming to the knowledge of staff must in the first instance be reported immediately to the Registered Manager, Deputy Manager or Senior Residential Worker., 12. To develop and maintain good working relationships with parents, social workers, schools and other professionals concerned with the welfare of the young people., 13. To use the home as a model to support and develop the social skills of the young people being looked after., 14. To ensure that the home meets the needs of the individual young people and the needs of the group., 15. To maintain a good understanding of child protection and safeguarding procedures, 16. To care for children when they are ill and, where necessary, administer medicines, drugs and treatment under the guidance of the child’s medical practitioner., 17. To perform household duties as required. This includes cooking and general cleaning, sorting laundry, checking children’s bedrooms and encouraging them to keep their rooms tidy. Pay: £33,000.00-£35,000.00 per year Full Time and Part Time 12hr, 24hr shifts and 5pm-11pm plus sleep available Experience with social care and children is required
Residential Support Worker Role To support the learning, emotional and social needs of children/young people within the residential home. Residential Support Worker will be required to participate in recording, monitoring and evaluating individual child strategies/support. Duties This job description describes in general the normal duties which the post-holder will be expected to undertake. However, the job or duties described may vary or be amended from time to time without changing the level of responsibility associated with the post. Hours of Work Day Shift 8am to 8.30pm / Night Shift 8pm to 8.30am Responsibilities: 1. Assist in the educational, social, emotional and behavioural development of children/young people under the direction and guidance of Management and support., 2. To assist management to develop the house and its environment ensuring that the highest standards of care prevail for each individual child/young person, within the guidelines of the stated model of care., 3. Assist in the implementation of Personal Education Programmes for children/young people and help monitor their progress., 4. Assist in the implementation of Individual Care Plans for children/young people and help monitor their progress., 5. To provide and support the provision of primary care for each child/young person and help them develop healthy attachments., 6. While on rota in the house, under supervision of the house management, be responsible for the care of children/young people as delegated by the senior staff., 7. To participate in sleeping in duties as required., 8. To maintain and promote good relationships with other professionals, team members and management, other sections within Caridon, parents, other agencies and professionals., 9. Support, monitor and evaluate the children/young people’s emotional and behavioural difficulties and help develop their social skills., 10. To ensure that Health and Safety of the children/young people and the home is monitored in accordance with the relevant legal requirements and good practice., 11. To participate in staff training, which is mandatory training, and all other mandatory training., 12. To be available whilst on duty to participate in on going supervision with a member of the Management Team and through this supervision develop an understanding of the behaviour of the children/young people., 13. To develop specific pieces of work with children/young people as directed and supervised by the Registered Manager/Deputy Manager., 14. To ensure high standards of communication involving checking and completing daily records, message book, diary and any other documentation in accordance with our developing best practice., 15. To contribute to the children/young people’s development through a variety of means including play, excursions, and other social opportunities in an individual and group setting both inside the home and outside appropriate to children/young people’s needs. Standards and Quality Assurance:- 1. Support the aims and ethos of Caridon as outlined in the Statement of Purpose., 2. Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality and attendance., 3. Attend all staff meetings., 4. Undertake professional duties that may be reasonably assigned by the Management., 5. Undertake other reasonable duties from time to time as required.
