CT19 has partnered with an innovative cleantech start-up, a pioneering materials science company developing technologies at the forefront of clean energy and carbon reduction. The company is experiencing significant growth and is now seeking a Scientist to support the design and development of novel process systems for carbon capture and hydrogen storage. This is a pivotal role within the R&D team, with responsibility across pilot-scale activities, formulation development, and materials characterisation. Scientist Responsibilities • Investigate and develop formulations for gas capture applications, • Lead formulation and coating/deposition process development, • Conduct materials characterisation and generate high-quality data, • Accurately document experiments, results, and insights within a structured, searchable system, • Identify opportunities to improve processes, equipment, and laboratory systems, • Ensure all work complies with relevant safety regulations and internal procedures Scientist Requirements • Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a closely related field, • Proven experience in chemical formulation and R&D environments, • Strong experience in coating formulation development, • Background in materials characterisation, including techniques such as rheology, coating thickness/roughness, adhesion, zeta potential, particle size distribution (laser diffraction), TGA, porosimetry, and mechanical testing, • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, continuous improvement mindset, • Creative thinker with the ability to approach challenges from new angles, • Experience with coating deposition techniques is highly desirable Why Apply? • Opportunity to join a high growth cleantech start-up tackling some of the most pressing challenges in energy and sustainability, • Work at the cutting edge of materials science, developing technologies with real-world industrial impact, • Broad, hands-on role across formulation, characterisation, and pilot-scale development
