Field Service Engineer Vending / Coffee Machines, South & Central London, £35-£40k My client is a professional, established and very successful company providing businesses in the South and Central areas of London with vending and coffee machines. They are looking for a Field Service Engineer to join their team to fill, clean and maintain premium coffee & vending machines to the standard required by the customers. You will be assigned a specific area to manage, as we believe that getting to know your clients is the most important factor in delivering great service. Your area will predominantly consist of countertop and floor-standing coffee machines, so experience in this category is required. Working with the wider Service Desk and Technical team, you will be visiting sites to conduct PPM, breakdown calls courtesy visits. As we continue to grow, you will also assist in the installation of machines at new sites. Key Responsibilities: - Installation & Maintenance: - Install and set up new vending machines at customer sites, ensuring they are fully operational and meet all safety and operational standards. Planned preventative maintenance visits across your set area to reduce future breakdown calls. Reactive breakdown calls, responding within the agreed SLA for each client. Troubleshooting & Repairs: - Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on vending machines, including electrical, mechanical, and software issues. Identify and order necessary spare parts to resolve problems quickly and efficiently. Customer Interaction: - Provide on-site support to clients, explaining machine operations and answering any technical queries. Maintain positive relationships with customers, ensuring a professional and helpful approach at all times. Technical Documentation & Reporting: - Complete service reports detailing work completed and any follow-up actions required Maintain accurate records of service visits, machine status, and parts usage. Health & Safety Compliance: - Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies while working at customer sites. Ensure that all installations and repairs meet industry standards and comply with safety regulations. Stock Management: - Manage and maintain stock of spare parts and tools within the vehicle. Keep the company informed about stock levels and the need for reordering. Requirements: - Previous experience in a field service engineer role, preferably within the vending, coffee machines, or related industries. Strong technical knowledge of vending machine operations, including electrical and mechanical systems. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users. Qualifications: - Supporting qualifications would be advantageous. Full UK driving license (clean and valid). Previous experience working with vending machines, coffee equipment, or similar systems. This is an entry-level role with a training programme that will last 12-18 months depending on the progress of the individual. You must be a quick learner, flexible in your approach but prepared to learn your trade, rather than attempt to run before you can walk. Very strong presentation and communication skills are essential. Ultimately this is a Sales job so candidates must have a bias towards running their own "desks" and revenue streams, with a strong work ethic. Prior sales experience would be beneficial but is not essential. French speakers will also be at an advantage. Ability to work to aggressive time scales, quick thinking but with the ability to understand, and therefore affect, the complexities of each transaction Good performance in education is looked upon favourably, but non-academic achievements will be valued highly e.g. sporting achievements, international travel, charity work as well as demonstrable evidence of working (and earning) outside of academia.
