We're looking for someone with approximately 1-3+ years relevant experience who is a team player with drive, ambition and commitment to producing quality work. You'll work as part of an experienced team delivering geo-environmental and geotechnical consultancy services to a diverse range of clients, with a good balance of site and office working.Key Responsibilities Be familiar with relevant standards, guidance and legislative background to the geo-environmental and geotechnical industrySupervise ground investigations involving various techniques, manage subcontractors, log and sample soil and rock to BS5930Monitor gas and groundwater, undertake in-situ tests, and conduct validation visitsSchedule chemical and geotechnical laboratory testing and produce exploratory hole logs using OpenGround or similarProduce calculations from templates and drawings (including in CAD)Write Phase I desk study reports and Coal Mining Risk Assessments (CMRAs)Prepare health and safety documentation and implement safety standards on siteWrite interpretive reports including Phase II geo-environmental assessments, risk assessments, and geotechnical assessmentsInput, screen, analyse and interpret site data, presenting clear logical argumentsCommunicate effectively with colleagues, clients and suppliersPrepare proposals for new work and check/approve subcontractor invoicesComply with internal policies, procedures and ISO standardsSkills, Knowledge, and ExpertiseEssential Requirements: Approximately 1-3+ years relevant experienceUndergraduate degree (2:1 or above) in relevant subject (geology, environmental science, geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, physical geography etc.)Full UK driving licence (manual transmission)Good IT skills and competent with MS OfficeStrong work ethic, able to work effectively alone or as part of a teamGood problem solving skills with ability to adapt and find practical solutionsDesirable: Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and OpenGroundKnowledge of remediation strategies and techniquesExperience with verification of remediation works and preparation of verification reportsFamiliarity with earthworks, materials/waste management, and MMPs under CL:AIRE DoWCoPSoil mechanics knowledge and foundation bearing capacity calculationsExperience liaising with regulatorsSalary and BenefitsWe offer a competitive salary of £29,000 - £34,000 dependant on experience and provide a comprehensive range of benefits including: Optional 2FF working pattern, working slightly extended hours across the fortnight and you take every second Friday off.
