Emsans are currently working with a key client who is looking for a Planning Manager to join their expanding team. They specialise in delivering full project life cycle collaboration, supporting clients from early-stage planning and tendering through to project delivery and delay analysis. Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and driven Planning Manager to lead planning and scheduling functions across a diverse portfolio of projects. This role is critical in ensuring robust project controls, accurate forecasting, and effective delay analysis to support successful project delivery and dispute resolution. Key Responsibilities • Lead the development, maintenance, and management of project schedules using Primavera P6, • Oversee planning activities across the full project life cycle, from concept to completion, • Collaborate with clients, project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure integrated planning strategies, • Prepare and review tender programmes, ensuring alignment with client requirements and project constraints, • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies, • Conduct delay analysis and produce detailed reports to support claims and dispute resolution, • Provide expert advice on planning methodologies, construction sequencing, and commissioning strategies, • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in project controls, • Mentor and support junior planners within the team Key Requirements • Proven experience as a Planning Manager or Senior Planner using Primavera P6, • Strong background in engineering, construction, or infrastructure projects, • Demonstrated expertise in delay analysis and claims support, • In-depth understanding of project life cycle phases and planning methodologies, • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, client-focused environment, • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities Desirable Skills • Experience working on complex, multi-disciplinary projects, • Familiarity with NEC or other standard forms of contract, • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., APM, CIOB), • Professional growth in a specialist consultancy environment These roles are hybrid, offering a mix of remote work and time in the Leeds office
