Job Title: Building SurveyorType: PermanentLocation: NewportSalary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week BRC are working closely with a well-established Housing Association based in Newport to recruit an experienced Building Surveyor to join their property services team. This role involves managing a varied portfolio of housing stock, ensuring properties are safe, compliant, and well maintained, while delivering high-quality surveying and contract management services.Duties: • Carry out building surveys, inspections, and condition reports across residential properties, • Manage day-to-day repairs, planned maintenance, and minor works projects, • Prepare specifications, schedules of work, and tender documentation, • Oversee contractors on site, monitoring performance, quality, and compliance, • Ensure all works meet current legislation, health & safety, and housing standards, • Diagnose building defects and recommend appropriate remedial actions, • Manage budgets and ensure value for money is achieved, • Liaise with residents, internal teams, and external stakeholdersRequirements:, • Proven experience working as a Building Surveyor, ideally within social housing or local authority, • Relevant qualification in Building Surveying or Construction (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent), • Strong knowledge of building regulations, health & safety, and housing legislation, • Experience managing contractors and building works on site, • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, • Excellent communication and organisational skills For more information, please call Meg Smith on or .
