Senior Quantity Surveyor – Infrastructure & Highways The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take a leading commercial role on a major UK infrastructure project — a significant highways scheme delivering new carriageway construction, junction improvements, earthworks, drainage, and structural elements. This is a high-profile position offering real ownership and influence across commercial performance, cost control, and contract management, either on a flagship project or across a portfolio of infrastructure schemes. You’ll be joining a well-established, forward-thinking infrastructure business with a strong pipeline of long-term secured work across highways, water, utilities, and wider civil engineering frameworks. What You’ll Be Doing You will take full commercial responsibility for key elements of project delivery, including: • Ensuring a safe working environment and supporting strong health & safety performance, • Leading subcontract procurement, negotiation, and package management, • Administering contracts and managing commercial compliance throughout delivery, • Managing change control processes, including Compensation Events and variations, • Producing, submitting, and agreeing monthly applications and valuations, • Developing detailed cost plans, forecasts, and Cost Value Reconciliations (CVR), • Monitoring subcontractor performance and managing commercial risk exposure, • Issuing contractual notices to clients and supply chain partners as required, • Liaising closely with operational and engineering teams to maintain accurate site records, • Supporting progress, risk, and commercial review meetings with key stakeholders What We’re Looking For • Strong experience in civil engineering or infrastructure projects (highways, water, utilities, or similar), • Excellent working knowledge of standard forms of contract (NEC experience highly desirable), • Strong commercial awareness with proven negotiation and cost control capability, • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills, • Experience managing subcontract packages and change control processes, • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial systems (e.g. CEMAR, Oracle or similar), • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (or equivalent experience), • Working towards or holding MCIOB / MRICS (desirable), • Valid CSCS card Why Apply?
