Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Vehicle Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, with a focus on clutch replacements, engine rebuilds, and major mechanical work. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality workmanship. Key Duties: Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify issues and determine necessary repairs. Perform engine diagnostics and full engine rebuilds when required. Carry out clutch repairs and replacements, along with gearbox, timing belt, and other major mechanical repairs. Complete routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake inspections, and tyre replacements. Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using modern diagnostic tools and equipment. Repair or replace faulty components, including transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems. Maintain accurate records of all repairs, services, and parts used. Ensure all work is carried out in line with safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Keep the workshop clean and organised, and ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored. Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure timely completion of jobs and customer satisfaction. Key Skills & Requirements: Proficient in mechanical diagnostics and repair techniques. Strong understanding of vehicle systems: engine, clutch, transmission, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic. Previous hands-on experience with clutch work, engine rebuilds, and other major mechanical repairs is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. A keen eye for detail and commitment to high-quality work. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills for clear interaction with team members and customers. Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive repair are advantageous. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, but training will be considered for the right candidate. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the kitchen operation, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality Cantonese-style takeaway food, in line with the brand’s reputation. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Plan and design seasonal menus tailored to customer demand, incorporating a wide range of traditional Chinese dishes such as Sweet & Sour, Black Bean, Szechuan, Satay, Oyster Sauce, Cantonese-style stir-fry dishes, fried rice, chow mein, and curry-based items; Supervise the daily operation of the kitchen, ensuring efficient production and timely order fulfilment in a high-volume takeaway environment; Lead on the recruitment, training, and performance management of junior kitchen staff; Implement and monitor food quality standards and ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning across all menu items; Provide on-site coaching in key Chinese cooking techniques such as high-temperature wok stir-frying, deep frying, red braising, oil velveting, steaming and soup-making, to maintain traditional culinary standards; Oversee kitchen hygiene and food safety compliance in accordance with UK regulations (including HACCP), and maintain proper records; Manage food cost controls including stock procurement, supplier negotiation, inventory control and waste reduction; Collaborate with business owners and front-of-house staff to improve customer satisfaction and implement feedback-driven menu adjustments.
