Based within Kings Hill Plant Nursery, Alf's Café and the Four Seasons Function Room are at the heart of daily life. They provide welcoming spaces where people can connect, learn and thrive. Through food, hospitality and customer service, we support individuals to gain practical experience, develop routines and build confidence for the future. Your Key Responsibilities Plan and prepare high-quality café-style food using fresh, seasonal ingredients wherever possible Create specials and contribute ideas for menus and new products Use produce grown within the nursery setting where appropriate Cater for dietary requirements, allergies and cultural needs Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment Follow food hygiene, health and safety and safeguarding procedures Support and encourage people with learning disabilities and autism to participate in food preparation and service where appropriate Order supplies, manage stock levels and carry out stock takes Cost menus and dishes to support the financial sustainability of the café Monitor food waste and identify opportunities to improve efficiency Support the catering and delivery of functions and events Assist with the set-up and breakdown of events within the Four Seasons Function Room About You You may already have experience working as a cook, chef or kitchen assistant, or perhaps you've recently gained a qualification and are looking for an opportunity to develop your skills in a professional environment. Most importantly, you'll be someone who takes pride in producing quality food, enjoys learning and wants to be part of something that makes a genuine difference.
