WH Bence have an exciting opportunity for a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. \n \n Location: Yate, Bristol, BS37 5NG \n Salary: £40,000 basic per annum, OTE up to £55,000 including weekend work \n Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time \n Hours: Monday to Sunday varied work pattern with varied start times, overseas (Ireland) and nights out (Cab night out's paid) \n \n About Us: \n \n WH Bence, a family owned and run Company based in Yate, Bristol, has been in business for over 40 years. \n \n Bence is looking for an experienced HGV Driver to join our established team. \n \n Highly regarded UK specialist coachbuilder: contracts include the manufacture and conversion of vehicles for the emergency services, command & control vehicles, hospitality trailers and mobile medical units (Breast Screening, MRI, CT, Heart Cath Lab, Chemotherapy, Retinal Clinics). \n \n HGV Class 1 Driver – This Role: \n \n • Transporting high value specialist medical trailers (e.g. MRI, CT, Breast Screening) within the UK and Ireland \n • Transporting high value MRI and CT abnormal loads to, and between, hospital sites \n • Escort duties accompanying oversize load deliveries \n • Ensuring each delivery is set up to our client’s satisfaction – this includes some manual handling and practical work to ensure steps or ramps or handrails are set up safely on site, and that water and power are connected before leaving site \n • Delivery of Fire Appliances, Emergency Service vehicles, Chemotherapy Clinics \n \n HGV Class 1 Driver – Key Responsibilities: \n \n • Ensuring your vehicle and all Bence vehicles are kept clean and tidy \n • Helping move vehicles and trailers within the Bence yard, and between Bence sites \n • General local driving duties to support the business (e.g. collect customers from Parkway train \n station or Bristol airport, collections for the production workshops such as base chassis, panels) \n • Delivering fuel and/or water to mobile screening clinics out on site \n • Helping with the external washdown of mobile clinics prior to delivery \n \n HGV Class 1 Driver – You: \n \n • Have a Category C + E, with no more than 6 points \n • Have a valid Digicard & DCPC card \n • Have at least 2 years HGV driving experience \n • Be a careful, confident, competent driver – Bence deliveries are not time pressured but need to be completed calmly and professionally, to a high standard, and without any drama \n • Have some experience with abnormal loads / escort driving. 7.5 Tonne Delivery Driver – Two-Person Home Delivery \n We are recruiting 7.5 Tonne Drivers to join a busy home delivery team. Working alongside a driver’s mate, you will deliver furniture, appliances and other household goods to customers, providing a friendly and professional service.
