About You Are you a committed professional looking to make a direct impact in a supportive school community? Do you want to join an organisation that invests in your professional growth, funds formal apprenticeship qualifications, and treats staff as people first? You will hold a fundamental belief that all young people can achieve great things regardless of their background or prior educational experiences. Bringing at least two years of experience in a school environment, you possess strong administrative capability, operational resilience, active listening skills, and a clear understanding of safeguarding regulations. You are skilled at working with vulnerable learners, managing SEN/SEMH needs, tracking outcomes, and building positive relationships with families and multi-agency partners. We are seeking an Alternative Provision Coordinator to join our support team at The Oxford Academy. You will either have experience in student support, pastoral care, SEN/SEMH intervention, and alternative provision management, or demonstrate the aptitude and drive to develop into the role with structured support. In this role, you will lead on the planning, tracking, coordination, and evaluation of alternative provisions across the school. This includes managing off‑site placements with local colleges or charities, coordinating internal interventions such as mentoring and art therapy, handling financial invoices, and supporting student reintegration back into mainstream lessons. Some students require tailored support outside the standard classroom environment to achieve their full academic potential. As Alternative Provision Coordinator, you ensure that every intervention, whether an off‑site college placement or internal mentoring, is structured, tracked, and regularly reviewed. You will act as the crucial link between inclusion teams, external providers, parents, and students, ensuring no child falls through the gaps. This is an important time to join The Oxford Academy, where our values of “commitment to others, commitment to learning” drive everything we do. We are seeking a skilled individual who shares our deep belief that education has the power to transform lives, communities, and society for the better. You will be joining a team where staff are genuinely proud of the work they do, recognising how valuable a high‑quality education is for improving pupils’ life chances, and remain very positive about working at the school (Ofsted 2026). At The Oxford Academy, support staff are valued as essential professional partners in our school's success. We actively invest in our team through CPLD and formal apprenticeship pathways funded via the River Learning Trust Apprenticeship Levy. Whether you are starting out or looking to broaden your career, our support staff have successfully completed Level 3 to Level 5 qualifications, enabling meaningful internal career progression. ‘With the Trust's support and the Apprenticeship Levy, I completed both a Level 5 Operations Management apprenticeship and a Level 5 CIPD qualification. That structured CPLD provided the foundation to move into HR; a shift made possible by RLT's commitment to internal professional development’ (Manager, The Oxford Academy). ‘I am delighted to have joined TOA. I have felt consistently supported by my line manager, Nora Ward, as well as the Senior Leadership, Central teams and HR colleagues. From day one, it was clear that this is an environment where I can build effective systems, grow professionally, and see the real‑world impact of my work. It's a privilege to be part of a community that truly lives its values; placing students at the heart of everything while ensuring staff feel respected and genuinely valued’ (Manager, The Oxford Academy). ‘The atmosphere at The Oxford Academy is truly like no other, it is a space that is as inspiring as it is motivating. There is an infectious energy here driven by a staff and students that fills me with pride. I've reached a point where I feel like a stick of rock, I am TOA through and through’ (Senior Leader, The Oxford Academy). ‘What I didn't expect, though, was to find an environment where the differing strengths of each and every staff member are valued and that time would be invested in me to be the best I could be. I ventured through a number of roles and, since I retired from teaching, I have continued in a support role that enables me to make a difference. One other thing that should be highlighted is that staff are thought of as people, and not work units. I suffered a bout of serious ill-health and the TOA family supported me in my return to the chalkface, and I will be forever grateful to them’ (Administrator, The Oxford Academy). ‘Being part of creating successful futures for so many students is something that I will always be proud of. My enthusiasm grows for my job every single day’ (Intervention Tutor, The Oxford Academy). While this position is advertised as full time, we warmly consider requests for part‑time hours or flexible working arrangements. Please indicate your preference on the application form.
