Data Center Asset Lead | £580 p/d | Contract | Inside IR35 | Remote About the Role We are looking for a Lab Environment & Asset Lead to take ownership of the governance and operational control of our clients lab environments. This role is critical to ensuring lab assets, access, and usage are tightly managed, fully auditable, and aligned to approved funding and enterprise control standards. You'll be working closely with delivery teams, PMO, finance, and external suppliers, to enable stable environments that support programme delivery while maintaining strong operational discipline. This is an operations-focused role. Control, compliance, and enablement are vital in this role. You must have data center experience! What you will be doing: • Maintain complete and accurate records of all hardware and software assets across test lab environments, • Oversee the full asset lifecycle, including allocation, reuse, and secure decommissioning, • Ensure all lab usage is linked to approved funding, projects, or Clarity demands, • Manage governance of environment and console access, ensuring permissions are approved, monitored, and removed when no longer required, • Act as the primary point of coordination between lab teams, delivery programmes, PMO, finance, and vendors, • Provide operational oversight and reporting to support audit, risk, and compliance requirements, • Apply and operate within established enterprise governance and control frameworks Data Center Asset Lead | £580 p/d | Leeds | Contract | Inside IR35 | Hybrid Oscar Associates (UK) Limited is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy. Main Purpose of the Role • To support colleagues and business processes with their IT requirements while acting as a deputy to the IT Manager. The role is responsible for ensuring that the organisation’s IT infrastructure is modern, secure, reliable, and efficient. Key Responsibilities IT Infrastructure • Design, deploy, and manage servers and related services from vendors such as Dell and HP., • Design, deploy, and maintain networks and cloud services (e.g., Microsoft Azure)., • Deploy and manage virtualisation technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V., • Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions., • Manage and optimise storage solutions including SAN and NAS systems., • Develop and maintain infrastructure automation scripts and tools., • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments., • Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades and migrations with minimal downtime., • Assist in the development and enforcement of IT policies and procedures., • Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance the IT infrastructure. IT Operations • Monitor and maintain laptops, peripherals, and display equipment across the business., • Provide technical support and guidance to end users., • Monitor and maintain system performance, availability, and security., • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues., • Collaborate with colleagues to support business applications and services., • Ensure compliance with company security policies and industry best practices., • Maintain documentation for infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures., • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends. Role Requirements Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field., • Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT Infrastructure or IT Operations roles., • Relevant certifications such as:, • CompTIA Network+, • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, • Strong knowledge of server and network administration., • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)., • Proficiency with virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)., • Understanding of ITIL processes and best practices
